DSST Western Europe Since 1945 (3) UL and DSST Introduction to the Modern Middle East (3) UL are both LL at Excelsior, and yes LA-498HIS History Capstone is UL and counts as history credit. DSST Rise and Fall of the Soviet Union (3) LL is UL at Excelsior. You need 33 total, 18 UL and 15 LL minimum history credits for a major. You have the divisions correct though. I don't have time this morning to add them up. Sorry.

Hi All-American!
The Liberal Arts catalog says this is a History Elective - ECE World Conflicts Since 1900 (3) UL.
I know other forum members have taken Info Lit through LSU.
I know that credits can count toward 2 requirements. A depth in history also covers the gen ed history/social science section, as you have in your plan. There may or may not be an issue with using credits from the History major for the Political Science Area of Focus, too. That will need to be checked, but is not really where my concern is. My concern is whether History exams can also be categorized as Political Science exams at EC (see more info below). As an example, despite a huge overlap in study material the American Government CLEP does not count as history at EC.
This section will need to be checked for Political Science coverage at EC:
DSST Rise and Fall of the Soviet Union (3) UL
DSST Introduction to the Modern Middle East (3) LL
DSST Western Europe since 1945 (3) UL - is LL at EC
DSST Environment and Humanity (3) LL - Note this is Natural Science at EC.
Also, use the Political Science major list as a guide and for ideas. I noticed that ECE World Conflicts Since 1900 (3) UL and Statistics count toward that major. If so, you would only need one more exam/course for the Area of Focus. Ask about DSST Introduction to the Modern Middle East (3) LL and DSST Western Europe since 1945 (3) LL first.
Double-check everything against the Student Guide again; there are still some errors. For instance, Health is Applied Professional (free elective) not Science at EC. You can take it, if you need the UL credit, but the Biology exam covers the 2 science credits you need, since you have so much math planned already.
Make sure you have 120 credits; you may be low. You only need 30 UL; you may be high.
I hope that helps!

Hi Dewisant!
How does "intermediate" work within the History major? Can it be LL? Does Vietnam War (US History) and Western Europe since 1945 (European History) work within that context? What about Introduction to the Modern Middle East? Does "Intro" mean the level is too low?

True. Maybe it would be better to plan the 18 UL credits first and fill-in with any needed LL exams after that.

With the amount of credits we both have, yes. Starting out I tell people to start taking CLEP tests and after you have about 60 credits pick one of the big 3 and sign up.
