If someone wanted to get a Ph.D. in Engineering or Computer Science (not IT, IS, CIS, MIS, etc). Which is the highest-ranked engineering school where you can get your Ph.D. online with maybe a few mandatory residency sessions. Also, I mean only a "Ph.D." not D.Eng like Johns Hopkins, or D.Tech like Purdue.
If anyone knows of any elite schools, I'd like to know. For now, I think the winner is Texas A&M University based on US News ranking #10:

The program is Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Engineering. It's a quirky name, but if you think about it, areas like Systems Engineering and Artificial Intelligence are interdisciplinary drawing upon several domain areas:

I can easily see students studying/researching AI topics for their dissertations in this program.
