Strings, please check the signup page. There was more than one way listed to get an invite code. As for how long a free account lasts if you don't use it, probably at least a couple of months--nothing's set in stone.

So far I like Spanish Hour. If you haven't signed up yet, you should. It is very interactive. The audio is of good quality.
