Is it just me since I am new, but I am trying to go thru this course testing questions, and am finding it extremely difficult to answer the questions they are asking. Outside of getting the spelling correct, you have to use the exact word they are asking for, and in reality making the test a lot harder than it needs to be. Are all these test like this one? Multiple choice would be so much less complicated then having to guess at what word they want. Is there any suggestions?

which set of questions are you referring too? the Instantcert ones or the REA disk ones or Peterson's test Prep? 1st take a deep breath, here's to your health is not a hard exam. you can do it! second check your resources, in my opinion you should have a subscription to Instantcert and review their flashcards not by typing the answers but clicking the forward button, make sure your java software is updated on your computer I've had some issues there recently. You should also check out the exam specific guide for this exam once you are subscribed. You can download audio of this course which means you can listen to the audio while getting some exercise. There are some good books available to study for this exam published by OWL if I remember correctly you'll find the information in the exam specific feedback section at Instantcert. If you intend to only use the Peterson's test Prep, they are frustrating but select the flashcard only practice test, make sure you check and expand each answer, it is more long winded than instantcert but if that's what you want to use take it one slide at a time and work little by little. Have you booked your test yet? You should give yourself at least four weeks if you are going to try using Peterson's on their own. although I'd recommend you get at textbook or two. A quick search on ebay for DSST should help.

Appreciate your reply. I am very new to this whole thing of being able to Clep/Dantee out of courses. I did sign up for the 6 mo subscription for Instacert and just went to course listing and clicked on the Heres to Your Health (suggested by the counselor as a good course to fulfill this credit) and click on it and do the test that is there not sure what REA is. It lists different sections in this course but all sections are fill in the blank,(ex. fill in the word behave and not act, because the word act is wrong, but on multiple choice I would have seen behave and been able to choose it). I don't know anything about the guide that goes with these? I did copy and paste each quest. so that I could study it with the answers filled in. I will take your post and look further into other study guides, I am not happy with this method of study quite yet.
Believe it or not, I have a 4.0 GPA in legal classes (Paralegal Degree, going on for Bachelor in Mgmt) but can't seem to maneuver around this forum )

As long as you realize that the fill-in-the-blank flashcards are not representative of the format of the exam, you should be fine. If your spelling is off, it doesn't matter. Did you know the answer? Great! The actual exams are multiple-choice, so you do not need to worry about spelling. If you know the subject matter, you should be able to pick out which answer is correct.

Obarr, you can just click through and see the answer and read the explanation. Don't despair the V2 system is not as easy to get around as the previous one but it works make notes on what slides you have seen. Don't take the tests till you have gone through the complete set of slides twice. Recently there are at least two answers which should trigger the you got it correct button. Key ingredient, you aren't trying to remember the word in the blank you are trying to get the concept surrounding the word. If you try and remember the correct word for the blank you will not learn what you need to know as well as you might otherwise. Example Jefferson purchased the Louisiana Territory from Napoleon for 15 million dollars. In this example the correct spelling of Napoleon isn't the issue but that Jefferson bought it for 15 million dollars from France when Napoleon was having trouble keeping his other colonies in South America. The same applies to Here's to your health keep clicking the next button/arrow to move on to the answers and read them all over and over. REA doesn't apply for DSST but you should find a few textbooks if you ebay DSST here's to your health.

If I understand the OP correctly, he isn't concerned with the spelling of the answer per se, but the way in which IC drills you on the material. IMO, reviewing would be easier with multiple choice answers instead of fill-in-the-blank. The wording is tricky which confuses you and makes the process harder. I tried using IC a few months ago, and didn't like the process.
I think that is what OP was getting at; if not then maybe I am just venting my own views.

The process worked for me on my recent exam, I haven't taken time to go over the slides in Here's to your health. I think the exam specific section should be worth his while. I made audio notes as I was reviewing the history slides which helped a lot but each to their own I guess. It looks like you are progressing well towards your goal and that's important.

On IC, if you put " act" and the correct answer is "behave"
, there is a little box next to the answer you can click on and that will count it as a correct answer.

Hi, are you having any luck with the "Here's To Your Health" DSST exam or practice exam? Did you do well on it? I've been studying for a couple weeks and am scheduled to take it this Friday so any advice would be helpful or could you send any study guide/notes you have on this particular test? I can't afford Instant Cert at the moment so if let me know if you can somehow help because I really need to pass this test. Is it a hard exam?
