Help with Degree plan from TESU Please
#1
I'm new to this forum but have been scouring through everything since last night. I work a ton of hours at my job so in what little time I have off I want to start on my Degree through TESU. I want to do the BSBA in Finance. Of course I want to do as much as possible through credits by exams and as quickly as possible, I'm a fast learner and hard worker but just need a good nudge in the right direction on where to even begin setting up a degree plan. If anyone can help me with this I would appreciate it so much!

The first question is - do you have any college credits at all now? If you do what are they?

Thanks for the reply. Yes I have 3 college credits in general psychology. I sent my transcripts to WGU before I found this college and they determined that I could transfer those credits.

Here is the BSBS in Finance.  My advice: start with all things free.  So the courses on the spreadsheet that are highlighted in yellow are free.  Do the Ethics course for certain, then Sophia, TEEX may take longer than you want, if so, skip those.

Next, check out ModernStates.org for free CLEP tests!  Yes, free.  You take the free course on Modern States, then get a voucher to take a free CLEP test, then submit your testing center fee receipt to MS for reimbursement.  You can't beat free with a stick.  Of course, this is under the assumption that you have a CLEP testing center reasonably close to where you live or work.

Then, apply for the Study.com scholarship, which will get you 6 free courses (Personal Finance which is a free elective, plus 5 courses of your choice).

After that, finish the degree using whichever methods you want.

Didn't the TEEX courses lose accreditation?

UGH!  You are right, those expired 2 days ago.  Cross those off the list. Now, I'm off to adjust all of my spreadsheets! With something like this, it makes me regret having so many...

Wow thanks for the great information! This is so helpful! Would this same method generally work with any other degree also? Or it's specifically for the finance. I mean could I also use this method for a second degree in liberal arts?

Yes.  But why would you want a second, general degree like a BALS when you already had a BSBA in Finance?

Well to be honest I can't decide if I want to do a finance degree or a liberal studies degree. I shouldn't have said second degree. I just can't decide which avenue to go down.
