SDC Biology with Lab

I was just asked a question that I do not have the answer for, would appreciate any input.  A friend of mine is taking the SDC Biology with Lab and finished all the quizzes with a 99%.  He finished the labs with an overall percentage of 92.4%.  Without studying he was able to get a 54% on the practice exam and under the score it said he needed to get 70% to pass the course.  In another area, though, it said he needed at least 56% combined with course assignments to pass the course.  Can anyone clarify this?  He is in a rush right now and would love to jump into another class ASAP but isn't sure if he should put hours/days into studying for this final to bump his score up around 70% or if he is "safe" to pass the course, as is?  I haven't taken any courses at SDC yet so it remains a mystery to me.  Thanks in advance!

He is fine. You need an overall score of 70% or 210 points out of 300 points. With 99% + 92% + 54%, he's got 245 points out of 300. This is roughly 81%.

99/100 + 92.4/100 + X = 210 , the question is: What is X? I got 18.6% which means, he needs roughly 1/5 of his final exam correct to pass.

I think you'll do great!  I actually haven't taken this course but I have a friend who has.  It was his first SDC course and at first he hit a wall trying to figure out the logistics.  He couldn't believe people were actually able to finish the course in DAYS.  He is one of the smartest people I know and super fast at learning.  He is like a blur to watch.  Anyway, he started out really slow on this course but as soon as he got it all figured out he accelerated like a maniac.  I think you have to take the time to figure out the "how to" format.  After that, it speeds up.  I hope all the experienced people here chime in because they have a LOT of experience and tips to smooth out the learning experience.  In the end it isn't as hard as the first impression.

I have two monitors (laptop and a secondary one), this is open book - the proctored final is not. Essentially, if I make a mistake, I click the link to show me the right answer, I use the second screen to review the video "pin-point" and review why I make the mistake. The quizzes actually builds up to the final exams/assignments, etc, don't rush the quizzes if you're not in a hurry to finish.
