Help with American GOVT

Anyone who took this clep already...
were the questions on the clep test similar to the instant cert flashcard questions? do i need to study more material if i have these IC questions down?

How are you doing on the free practice tests? They're a pretty good gauge if you're ready or not.

Im doing well. I originally went through each section individually about 5 times to make sure I got it down. I am now in the process of going through all the sections together, and in a randomized order. I have about 100 left, and I have only missed a few here and there.

Are you talking about the IC flashcards or the free Peterson practice tests? If you're talking about the practice tests, what's your score looking like?

Just scroll down and follow the directions. Once you're registered, go ahead and give the American Govt tests a try. As I said above, these are a pretty good indicator of how ready you are for the real thing. Don't freak out if you bomb the first practice test. Just review the stuff you miss and then take the next one.

Oh I was talking about the IC flashcards. Ill check out the link you sent. Thanks. Ive already registered for petersons, but i could only find practice tests that you had to pay for. Ill take them and let you know how I do.

i took the first one and got 57. when i reviewed the ones i missed, it was obvious that i rushed on a few of them. The questions are a lot different than the IC flashcards. Did you already take this clep?

Yep, though it was a few years back. If you run a search you'll probably find my feedback on the thing. I took this one without much (read: any) study, thinking my rabid "West Wing" watching skills would get me through. I barely passed as a result. It's not one that you want to take cold, but it looks like you're preparing well. I'd run through the practice tests until you can score above a 65 consistently. That's usually the score I consider myself "ready" to take the real thing.

I know there are a couple of folks who have taken this recently, maybe one of them will chime in and give you some more recent feedback. I take it you've already read the specific feedback thread for the exam?

You should be fine if you have the IC flash cards and the Peterson's practice tests down. All I used was the flashcards and watched the Standard deviants videos.
