Help please! I need to take a course in the Biological Sciences.
#1
I plan to work for the board of education in NY, and I need to have taken a course in the Biological Sciences (no lab required). Since I never took any biological sciences courses as an undergrad, what clep or dantes course would u recommend? I am not sure which one falls exactly under this category..which course is the easiest in this category??

ALSO, i must take a course in the physical sciences. could be astronomy, earth science, etc... Which clep course or dante course would u recomend? the easiest one please!!!

I have a few weeks to take this.

Thanks.

The only CLEP I know of that is a biological science is the Biology CLEP. Unfortunately, it is NOT easy. Dantes has an astronomy test. It is easier than the Biology CLEP but I don't think it is easy, either. Check the Specific Feedback section for lots of good information if you decide to try to take either one of these tests. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Good luck!

Does it have to be biological science, or is the requirement a natural science? If the latter, chemistry would qualify. CLEP has exams for both biology and chemistry, but they're reported to be extra tough. If the Board accepts passing test scores in lieu of actual college credits, would they accept the CLEP Natural Sciences? If not, the best alternative I could come up with is Ohio University's course credit by examination - they have a CCE option for their "biology for non-science majors" class (BIOS 103).

For physical sciences, physics and geology could be rough. I looked at the sample questions for DSST Astronomy, and it looks relatively easy.

started MS in Instructional Design program, Spring 2010

April 4 2009 through July 6 2009: 1 GRE subject exam + 1 Penn Foster credit + 11 DANTES exams = 61 credits. Average per-credit cost = $23.44.

Can anyone comment on this one? My sons are thinking about trying this one to fulfill a science requirement. My older one thought it would be easier than CLEP since he hasn't had biology in quite a few years. My younger son is finishing up Conceptual Physics (because there isn't much math). Will this prepare him enough for the DSST exam? (I know there is Chem. included.)

Thanks for any thoughts!
