Help! Degree Plan
#1
Hi! I'm Sean and looking for some help putting my plan together!

I'm 40, live in California and am looking to transition into tech sales and I'm thinking a BBA @ UMPI to help get me there.
I currently hold a EMT certificate (12.5 credits) from Sierra Community College.
Time is more important then budget. Looking to finish ASAP but will weigh costs if there are more expensive options that speed the process up. Currently have about 4 months right now where I can commit 40-50 hours per week. After that I'd be stuck with evenings and weekends.
Finishing within 18-24 months would be ideal. I have no access to FI assistance.

Thanks in advance for your help!

BBA from UMPI isnt going just to launch you into tech sales if you don't have experience...

Its a check the box degree, there are no internships and little networking..

100% and thanks for that. Have 9 years of sales experience in an unrelated field and I’m shooting to Sdr/Bdr at a tech company for a couple of years while knocking out the BBA. Live in Northern CA in HCOL town and have SOLID connections to some dream gigs. Its a few hours from San Francisco and lots of people work remote/hybrid and or have vacation homes here. May be able to sneak into some of the roles w out a degree but have a pretty realistic path to becoming an account exec at a big tech player in 2-5 years. Having the degree just opens up more choices down the road I think. Yes, job market for tech and tech sales is rough right now.

@skinmasksean - With this additional information from you it sounds like what you do need is that 'check the box' bachelor, and UMPI is a good match for that. Here is the wiki page for the BBA M&L (generally considered as being the quickest of the UMPI BBA concentration to complete) - https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/UM...egree_Plan
Amberton - MSHRB
TESU - ASNSM/BSBA

You should have led with this. All you mentioned was EMT and wanting to be in tech which have nothing to do with eachother. But yes, tech/sales is and always will be volatile. Going based of your subjective appraisal of your connections its hard to say if UMPI is a good fit. If you really have these connections, I dont really see how a check the box BBA from UMPI (0 name recognition in Cali or most anywhere) would help all that much but you do you.

UMPI BABA/BBA is just fine for your purposes, you're looking at a check the box degree... If you would like a different concentration, the BBA PM & IS might be better than the BBA M & L.

For many people - especially those with previous work experience - any degree from any RA college will suffice for job applications and resumes. UMPI is a state university. There's over 3000 colleges in the US. Most people have never heard of 99% of them. Doesn't mean no one should attend them.

Sales is all about marketing. Marketing is one of the fields of business administration.
