I didn't see this addressed. Background: I applied to TESU and was accepted last week. I also took 2 SDC courses and am waiting on the final to be graded.

Question 1: Do I have to be officially enrolled by July 1st or just have SDC transcripts sent over by then?
Question 2: Which catalog will I be locked in to if I enroll after July 1st? (Don't know if there's any upcoming changes, but just wondering)

Thanks,
Danielle

1. None of us know for sure, but it seems like as long as they get your transcript before July 1st then you should be good. You may have to bug them to change your status to reflect the discount.
2. Based on what other people have said about their enrollments, you should still be locked into 2020A catalog since you applied before July 1st.

At this point I believe COSC is significantly cheaper than TESU even with the 24 RA credits for COSC. Assuming you the 24 RA at a CC or somewhere cheap. I think you are saving 2 - 3 thousand with COSC over TESU.

I just wish COSC had more degree options. They really are limited in what they offer. The only technical degree they have is cyber security and I'm not especially interested in that one.

Of course TESU does still have advantages over COSC like the fact they offer more majors, less UL and accept more ACE and NCCRS. Plus money might not be everyones top priority for getting a degree.

Just 4 courses needed for my BSBA - CIS. Due to cost increase, I am going for Software development degree ( 15 courses) from WGU. 2 semester cost is only 6000$

That means if you pay the $298 graduation fee + $3192 = $3490 to graduate at TESU now!

You actually have to compare apples-to-apples when comparing costs between schools.  You have to look at how many credits you can bring in, and then the total cost to take courses at the school plus any fees.  At COSC, there are per-term fees and you have to go at least 2 terms, and there's going to be an extra fee for some to take that lab science; and let's not forget they're adding the RA credits requirement which will be hard for some to get.  At EC, there is an Enrollment fee, unless you take 12cr there.

Right now, the costs for each school bringing in the max credits:

COSC $2,848
EC $5,300
TESU $5,814

How did you come up with the $2,848 fee for COSC?

I'm wondering that as well. If that is true then COSC is a good deal. Even after 24 RA credits it would be cheaper than TESU. How did you get only 2848?

Also in my post here:
https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...#pid311570

I got 6594 base cost for TESU degree with 114 credits transfer. However, maybe my math is wrong. Also I assumed no study.com discount and out of state. Maybe you added the discount in.

Fee estimation:

Charter Oak:
  • Application fee: $50
  • 6 credits: $1914/$2514
  • Student Services fee (per semester): $224/$295
  • Technology fee (per semester): $75.
  • Graduation fee: $225
  • 24 RA credits ($50-150 each): $1200-$3600
  • Total cost to attend for 1 year (3 semesters): $4286-$7499
90 alternate credits via ONLY SDC over the course of a year: $2454-$2808

Total cost: $6740-$10,307

TESU:
  • Application fee: $50
  • 6 credits: $2394/$3054 OR flat-rate 16 credits: $3963/$4928
  • Residency waiver: $3125
  • TECEP (for 1-year full enrollment): $50/$150
  • Graduation fee: $298
  • Total cost to attend for 1 year: $5917-$6617 OR flat-rate 16 credits: $4361-$5426
114 alternate credits via ONLY SDC over the course of a year: $3132-$3368
98 alternate credits via ONLY SDC over the course of a year: $2723-3018

Toal cost 114 credits: $9049-$9985
Total cost flat-rate: $7084-$8534

I realize that TESU will only accept 90 credits from any one provider; Davar would be cheaper and Coopersmith would be more expensive. This is just a rough estimate of prices. It also doesn't take into account any free sources of credit that one might bring in.
