Have you ever analyzed your likes received and likes given?
#1
I guess because I am a social scientist and bored, I decided to look at my likes received and given to see if there were any patterns or cliquish behavior. My likes given are very mixed, so I am proud of myself for not displaying cliquish behavior or holding grudges forever. My likes received are pretty mixed, but I do have dozens of them from a few of the most active and longtime members. One person in particular stands out as having given me the most likes. Either he just really likes my posts or he's just overall generous with likes. I have noticed for awhile that one very active member hasn't liked my posts even when he's expressed strong agreement with or interest in them. I verified this by looking at my likes received. I have given him two likes in the past, but stopped when I noticed this pattern. I must have said something to him early on when he first joined this forum or given off a tone he didn't like, and he has harbored this grudge against me ever since. It doesn't bother me; I just thought it was interesting. He's overall very stingy with giving likes anyway. He should know who he is; and, now, he should notice that I notice. Confusedmilelol:

You peaked my interest but not enough to try and work the data to figure out who you've given 2 likes and received 0 from. Haha

I don't really analyze my likes, it might sound silly, I try to keep my likes given and received pretty equal. If I start giving more likes then I am receiving I feel like I am not contributing anything worthwhile. Meh, it's weird but I'm weird so hey ho.

I have over twice as many likes received as likes given. I thought I was being stingy, but I've given over 300 likes. I just post a lot. I should have 3,000 posts by the second quarter of 2014. LOL

I'm not going to lie, I like getting likes. Smile

I try not to hold grudges. If someone makes a good post I'll give them a like even if they've ticked me off in the past. I'm also a little more generous with likes given vs. received (2 Received for every 3 Given). I'd also probably give out more Likes, but for some reason my home PC won't let me Like a post (could be popup blockers or something).

I also don't post nowhere near as much as Sanantone. I have no idea how she does it.

I thought a thread about likes deserves at least one, so there ya go. Smile

I have a lot of free time even when I shouldn't.
