CollegeStudent7 Wrote:I looked at the BSBA for Gen. Mgmt Smile So you're basically saying I will be able to test out of almost everything except for 2 classes, which I would need to take online/campus/etc.? And for the BA I'll need 3 courses? Sounds great. Will obviously see what advisor tells me, but it seems like you're right and know what you're talking about Smile I can take 3 classes online in 12 weeks and it won't keep me from graduating in December.

When I look at the Accounting degree it looks like a TON of classes that I don't have and would need to take online, etc. Someone else mentioned Learner-Designed area of study and while there isn't much info. on it, I'm wondering what an advisor will say. Going to try to email them.

I received that cool acceptance email yesterday and a student ID number :hurray:

Yes, for the BSBA you should need just 2 courses and be able to test out of the rest; for the BA I am not sure, it depends on how your current credits are evaluated, but it seems like you would need 3 classes. Remember that you don't yet know how your credits will fit into the degree and what exactly you still need.

I agree with alleycat, start working on the gen ed's that you know you will need no matter what degree you choose, while you decide on the degree. I also agree with alleycat about writing everything down. Print out the degree requirements for every degree you are interested in, write in the courses you already have (leave out courses that might not transfer), and write down the courses and exams that would satisfy the remaining requirements. That way you can see what would be required for each degree you are considering. Then make a rough plan and write it down. As you get more information, you can change your plan as necessary, but do have at least a tentative plan.

Hope this helps.

I built an excel to help me out but found that I dropped the excel when I realized how helpful the TESC site was in comparing my progress and credits required for different programs.

I started out thinking I would just get a BALS since I already had all of the credits back in november but the work to get a BSBA CIS was well worth it.

The info I learned in the BSBA is allowing me to power through the MBA courses I am taking at NCU with relative ease.

That's awesome. I think they sent me an email that allows me to sign into their system. I'll be utilizing that Smile

I want to be a Health Educator, perhaps..so do you guys feel there's one better degree over the other?

I think you can graduate by december if you are focused and work hard.
I had 72 credits in October and completed all my coursework by mid February. I could have completed sooner if I had known it was a BSBA CIS that I was after. Some time was spent studying things I did not need because I thought I would go back to USF, my original B&M school.

I don't know what to say about your desire to be a health teacher. A BSBA is not going to help you to do that.
I would think you need an education degree or maybe a biology degree for that. Who knows.

There are teacher forums out there where you can pose this question. How to become a health teacher with your nurse background and a non-education degree.

I found out I can get mostly certifications and take classes that would allow me to teach it Smile I'm going to touch base with an Excelsior advisor asap. My transcripts will probably take another 2-3 weeks to even get to Excelsior. Thx Smile
