The bummer thing with the Extension degrees is that you're not a Harvard alumni unless that has changed.
What the heck is an ALM degree? (09-03-2021, 09:32 PM)ss20ts Wrote: What the heck is an ALM degree? Artium Liberalium Magister (Master of Liberal Arts). It's Latin. That part is fine, it's the "Extension Studies" they should change to reflect the actual major, but they have resisted doing so in order to further enforce the distinction between their extension school and their traditional programs

I have bad memory. I've read this a few times and I still get confused or forget, do HES get alumni status and keep their email address after graduation?

If you graduate with a degree from the Extension School, you have full Harvard University Alumni status, just like graduates from any of the other colleges at Harvard. You go to the same graduation as everyone else. Source: I graduated from HES with an ALM in IT back in 2014. Commencement was great (Aretha Franklin sang) but long as hell. LOL I am a full alumnus of the university. (09-03-2021, 11:15 PM)bjcheung77 Wrote: I have bad memory. Back when I was a student, we were all given @fas.harvard.edu email addresses, because the extension school was under the faculty of arts and science, just like Harvard College (the undergraduate school) and the Graduate School of Arts and Science. Upon graduation, we were given @post.harvard.edu addresses. A few years later, I got a notification that if I wanted to, I could change the email address from @post.harvard.edu to @alumni.harvard.edu, but I would lose my post address. Since I have used the post address a lot, I never bothered to change it. |
