Hello everyone i am new to this site and can only say i REALLY wish i wouldve known about it sooner. Well heres my question:
I need to increase my GPA. I read somewhere on the forum that if you are able to "replace" a class taken at TESC with a CLEP exam for example, and have the grade dropped from your Eval. and also removed from affecting your GPA i have inquired this with TESC in the past and they told me the CAN remove it from the transcript this way but the "D" will still be affecting my GPA. THey have given me misinformation before and so i would like to know if anyone on here has had any experience and/or success with this procedure?

TESC does not give grades for anything except their own Online or guided study courses. They will not give you ANY GPA unless you take at least one course from them. Once you take a course from them then that is the GPA they will put on your transcript. Most places don't bother to look through the whole thing. I have a couple of D's on my transcript from 30+ year old classes TESC took, but I took 2 classes from TESC one was a 3 credit course and I got an A-, one was a 6 credit course and I got an A so my Official transcript says my GPA for my BA is a 3.9. That looks like I am good but still human. No one has bothered to look past that. Some have mentioned my great GPA

Lindagerr,
thank you for your reply...unfortunately the grades that are bringing my GPA down were taken through TESC and they are no counting my grades from my previous College that would have greatly helped my GPA. So my issue would be increasing my TESC GPA...without taking anymore TESC courses. Wondering if anyone has had luck with replacing TESC course grades with any of the various credit by exams.

Hi abarquin743,
The only way to replace the grade is to retake the course. Or you could take another (preferably easier course to average out the grade. I think I would retake the course. It's been said if you retake with the same mentor you could resubmit coursework (if it earned a good grade). I know the main issue is usually the midterm and final exams as they can be very tough. At least now you know what you are looking at and have an advantage going in. I'm not sure what happens with the tests (same exam or another version). Hopefully someone who has gone through this will chime in.
Good luck!

Never mind. I answered my own question. It looks like I'm going to have to take some TESC courses for a GPA. But it really shouldn't matter right if I don't have a GPA from TESC? Grad schools calculate the GPA from all undergraduate coursework. Sorry if I'm hijacking this thread.
