Thank you! for your reply. I will read this and other threads, and begin to fully absorb everything here. Any other tips, direction etc, I am humbled and grateful for it all.

Excelsior recommended their liberal Arts program because it is the degree that you can finish the fastest with them, usually. You can test out of all of the required subjects except for their capstone and a 1 credit Information Literacy course. If you are a veteran you would be able to take advantage of some discounts. You would end up with a degree in general studies. It is likely the most popular degree they offer online
Associate in Arts - University of the State of New York / 1989
Undergraduate certificate in marketing, Ashworth College.

BSLS Excelsior college in progress. 6 classes to go

TESC BS Business Administration Sanantone's BSBA General Management - Degree Forum Wiki - Wikia A few things may have changed slightly, and using 8 TECEP exams you can really bring the cost down.
BSBA in General Management Degree Program Here is the schools breakdown on requirements.
CLEP - College-Level Exam Program how the CLEP fit into the above plan.
DANTES how DSST fit.
Honestly, if you go the "Big 3" route this offering from TESC is probably the one for you. If knowledgeable about business there isn't much to trip you up....just knock out the general education and the rest is pretty much business related. TESC will let you just about completely test out or bring in the easy credit from straighterline or penn foster.

You used to be able to complete the HW MBA without an undergraduate degree. I almost never recommend this as most students seem to want a traditional degree path to make themselves competitive for typical US jobs. In your case however, since your self employed, something like Heriot Watt might work. You will have to check and see if they still allow you to simply sit for the exams without an undergraduate degree https://www.ebsglobal.net/programmes/mba if that works you could just go on to their DBA (Business doctorate). HW is well known and respected internationally. If they do require an undergrad...then knock out the TESC offering first.

I'm always happy to complete the free application waiver for those applying to WGU (I get a free gift from WGU for this).  Just PM me your first/last name and a valid email so I can complete their form.

I have been reading various different forums over the last month and a lot of it is outdated, after doing some targeted word play in google I ran across this forum.

I don't want to spend monies at the different schools without understanding the best paths first? so I would rather pay an expert here to help me through this, any suggestions on who is the expert? or do I just study through Instant Cert and start taking Clep tests? because I'm new I'm trying to avoid pitfalls, both financially and time consuming.

I'm sure you can find someone to help you- but the senior contributors here, are volunteers. I'm sure you can find *someone* to hire- you might want to do your homework to assess that they know their stuff....but by the time you have to skills to assess someone else's skills, you're already ready to do it yourself. Smile

I wanted to edit to add one more comment: I'm pretty obsessive about this hobby- I probably spend 40 hours a week immersed in subjects related to college credit earning. That said, there are huge chunks of things I don't care about or keep up on- like degree planning. There are other people here that are experts in certain brands of tests, certain colleges and certain plans. Add in the military questions and you've got an even bigger venn diagram than you can imagine. This forum is the intersection. If you leave the intersection, you're limited by what one person knows- which won't be enough. If you're here, you get it all. It really is the best place to be. You're not spending money- you're not wasting time. You haven't had a degree for your whole career, don't become desperate now. It's a process, and you're in the right place- you don't have to SPEND money. Even if you handed me a million dollars, there is no way I could take the contents of my brain and dump it into yours- that's not how learning works. So, I'm sorry, but you'll just have to be willing to do a little learning- but that's not an insult. It's exciting, you'll enjoy it, and it will be a life changer, that I can promise you.

After trading back and forth about 100 messages with another member and creating two plans for them just for them to change their mind, I honestly wouldn't mind being paid for this. That last experience put a real bad taste in my mouth.

Don't waste time by trying to save time. The only sure way to complete your degree is to knock out credits quickly and efficiently.

Don't let easiness bite you in the rear. Know your endgame (where you want to be) and plan backward from there. Your education is a means to an end.

Be honest professionally, socially and academically. There are people (especially little ones) who look up to you and they're going by your example.

Be proud. Whether you're an Engineer or Fast Food worker, there is honor and dignity in hard work.

Picking on people weaker than you only proves that you are a weak person.

I wouldn't mind being paid either! I get where you're coming from, but I've kind of had to take the view that even if they don't use a plan I've created, I've still learned a little something in the process. Maybe someday, someone will use it, and if not, well, I just learned about International Business or something like that.

Of course, I've never traded 100 messages with someone, and I would probably give up on them long before it got to that point...before wanting to stab myself in the eye...

That was exactly my frustration. I normally encourage people to do a lot of their own homework. For some reason, with the one, I took a vested interest and spent A LOT of time with them, even telling them of alternatives early on. In the end, they switched to one of the first things I had suggested.

C'est la vie!

I work on a contract basis for a company that coordinates homeschooling reimbursement through the Department of Defense for families overseas - they hired me this academic year as their high school advisor. I am very well paid, but that role doesn't scratch the surface of my skill set- don't get me wrong, I enjoy it, but what gets my engine fired up is what I do here and on my FB page every day for free. I'm one of those strange people unmotivated by money.

Thank you for replying, the way I see it is I'm trying to get a degree or several degrees in short order, so I don't mind paying someone to help me navigate the waters.
So if your open to help me get this done, I would like to make it happen. Please let me know. Thank you!
