Which school are you attending? Some schools may not accept all of these options.

I agree with mamasaphire-- this can be very overwhelming! but you are not alone, folks on here are very helpful Smile

Ok, to start , let's break your choices down into baby steps and manageable size pieces. One of your choices is listed as 3 credits "in anything". Well, the first question I would ask myself is what type of courses are my strong areas--- are you good at history, business, social sciences etc?? I would choose one from the area that I feel best at and have some interest in. If you are not interested in the topic it will be tough to motivate yourself to study. I would take that test/course first to build confidence. My next step would be to look over the options and get familiar with pros and cons of the "types" of tests/courses. For instance, ALEKS is a Math self paced course that you complete online. For me, this would be my FIRST choice instead of Math CLEP because I am NOT good at math and I would do better with more instruction coming from a program online to help me along the way and it seems less pressure that taking a Math Clep . But that is ONLY how I feel with Math--many others might be the opposite. I have no problem taking a history or psych Clep because I am more confident in those areas . So these are the types of questions you need to ask yourself to kind of come up with a game plan. Try to read threads on this forum about the different options and get familiar with them. Some of them you will nix right away and they won't appeal to you. But others you will find might be a better fit for your plan. But I would definitely start with taking one test or course and choose the area that you feel the most confident or interest in and go with that one first-- to test the waters. Once you see that you can do it-- you will be hooked and not be as overwhelmed. You don't have to conquer this in one day---- baby steps, baby steps. As our Moderator ShotoJuku says "slow and steady wins the race".... great quote in my view!

It doesn't look like FDU awards CLEP credit. You should probably meet with an advisor and see what options you have there.

It looks like CLEP is allowed within certain limits.

Proficiency Exams :: Fairleigh Dickinson University

I would recommend getting the CLEP list mentioned on this page and asking about your other options. Once you know for sure what you are allowed, they may have made the choices for you or we may be able to help you narrow them down further.

For instance, some schools allow students to CLEP English and others don't. Some schools allow using CLEP General Exams like Natural Science and Math and others don't or only give 3 credits instead of 6.

I've seen some people having trouble trying to get ALEKS credit to transfer.

The Big 3 allow all of these options. You need to know exactly what your school's policies are on this, so you can get the credits you need through exams, etc. Then we should be able to provide more help.

If you are getting your degree there, yes, possibly. If not there are a lot of options.
