HELP !!! New TESC requirements
#11
Seems like you have everything figured out, but I don't understand why they won't accept Intro to Religions (transcribes as World Religions_REL-405). It is listed on their own website under Diversity/Global Literacy.

Not that it matters for the OP, but I would argue with TESC that World Religions fulfills the Diversity requirement.

Are you serious? Who should I ask? I would much rather take Intro to religions. The lady I talked to looked it up online and asked a different person. They all came up with the same answer.

Send an email to info@tesc.edu and make sure you put that TESC has already determined that Straighterline's Intro to Religion is equivalent to World Religions.

I'm not trying to start a religious battle, just curios. What is Christian based ethics? Wouldn't Liberty or Victory Universities offer something in that fashion? Does the denomination matter?

Don't waste time by trying to save time. The only sure way to complete your degree is to knock out credits quickly and efficiently.

Don't let easiness bite you in the rear. Know your endgame (where you want to be) and plan backward from there. Your education is a means to an end.

Be honest professionally, socially and academically. There are people (especially little ones) who look up to you and they're going by your example.

Be proud. Whether you're an Engineer or Fast Food worker, there is honor and dignity in hard work.

Picking on people weaker than you only proves that you are a weak person.

Prloko, Thanks for the question. I'm looking for an ethics course based on a theological worldview based on Christianity. Liberty has a course but its $650 a credit, (not sure if you just take the class or have to enroll in the school) I haven't heard of Victory yet but I'll look. As a Christian I want to base my ethics on my faith. You can have good ethics without faith but I wanted to study it with an emphasis on the Christian "Why" I would treat business dealings ethically. I've found one for free online but its not an accredited school so I might examine that while I prepare for an ethics exam. There are Islamic ethics courses which are available but it isn't my worldview so it wouldn't be as interesting to me as a biblical based ethics course would be. I guess I wanted to look at ethics above and beyond what may be required by U.S law when dealing with business. (The denomination doesn't really matter to me as I'm Reformed so I'd enjoy the challenge of something different)

R, The word of advisors that isn't in writing can't be challenged with the Dean if the College rejects a course you took based on what "Mary Jane said" as opposed to I took this course because I can prove by this email that "Mary Jane .. " approved the course/exam before I took it.

Ok cool. I'll be on the lookout for something. So are you looking for general ethics or business?

I found Victory University on accident. They are listed as a Servicemember Opportunity College and I wanted to see what the offered. Apparently, they used to be a small christian college that was bought up and converted into a for-profit, but they are still christian based. It wasn't for me, but maybe they have something to offer for our members looking for Christian learning. I can't remember what denomination they were affiliated with, but it shouldn't be too hard to find.
