I suppose I should explain my opera comment and apologize for steering off topic.
I don't dislike opera. I like many musical genres and love a few. Opera has never excited me except for once when evaluating some really fine speakers with a recording of Pavarotti. I would love to see a live opera. It's just that of all the areas mentioned in the Humanities threads I've read so far, it's probably the area I know the least about so that's where I was coming from. If I have to take the test I'll learn from the experience but I do have to keep my focus on the big picture which is knocking off general ed credits as quickly and inexpensively as I can so I can get my degree. Here's a little Pavarotti for the opera lovers! YouTube - Luciano Pavarotti Big Luciano "Nessun Dorma" Turandot Puccini PAWinTX

Hi PAWinTX!
I just wanted to make sure that this is clear for you. If your school accepts it, I think most of us would recommend taking A&I Lit as your first choice to meet a Humanities requirement. It is not an easy test to take, but it is reading poetry and short stories or passages and answering questions about what you read. (It's not my favorite topic either, but I got through it with lots of encouragement from members of the forum.) I posted my feedback here: http://www.degreeforum.net/excelsior-tho...#post75628
AS in 2010 and BS in 2013 at Excelsior College - Transcripts and Costs

Thanks NAP. Yes, the A & I test does look like it would be a good alternative and my college accepts it for the humanities credit. The feedback you posted is great!
Thanks again to everyone! ![]() |
