This is just a caution to those of you who swap or buy study materials on this forum - or any other online forum, for that matter.
A couple of months ago, I agreed with one of the IC forum members to trade my brand new REA Macroeconomics book for her REA Sociology book. I immediately mailed out the book within one day. After two weeks, I still hadn't received the Socio book, so I sent her a private message to inquire about it. She said that she had tried to send it out two weeks earlier but had received it back in her mailbox as "undeliverable."
She confirmed that she had received my Macro book and asked for my address once more - so I gave her my mailing address again. It's been almost two months since then, and I still don't have the Socio book. I tried contacting her, but she did not return my message. She is no longer active on this forum, either.
I realize that something unexpected could have happened, and I would like to give her the benefit of the doubt. But she still is not returning my inquiries.
So, I say all of this simply to warn others to BE CAUTIOUS when trading or purchasing books on forums.

That stinks! So far all of my swaps have gone even better than I expected. All my books are old used ones that are marked up (not my fault, previous owner's) and smell like cigarettes (my fault), but the books I have received have all arrived in a timely manner and like-new condition. Then I feel bad and wish I had sent more.
I've had a lot of luck swapping my used books on paperbackswap.com , they have everything on a credit system so if you don't get your book, you will get your credit back so you can request something else. You earn credits by shipping out your old books to people who request them. I have saved a lot of money by getting all my books this way. I took all my old mass market paperbacks and some of my mom's old romance novels from a yard sale, posted them all up on there, and shipped them out cheap at media mail rate. Then when I had accumulated some credits, I requested books for every test I planned to take and they all started showing up. All I ever had to pay was shipping. I recommend it, since you can ship books so cheap, it's the cheapest way I know to get specific used books, if you don't mind going to the post office a lot.

Is there a hidden book trading forum on here?

Nope, you just post whenever you have something to trade - and wait for someone to reply.

Hm... I did that a few weeks ago and my post disappeared. I thought maybe I had done something I shouldn't have, so I didn't try again. But this means it is ok?
(Btw, I promise I follow through on book trades/sales.)

Book trading should be perfectly acceptable on this forum. A lot of people do it on here. In fact, they used to have a separate section of the forum solely dedicated to swapping or selling. Unless IC's policies have changed, it's fine.

Ah that's what it was! I found a link to the "Book Swapping Forum" in the exam specific feedback section but the forum told me I didn't have access privileges for it.
