I'll ask Excelsior because they accept other alternative credits at the graduate level, such as DAU's courses evaluated by ACE. If you're currently enrolled or an applicant for an undergraduate program, whatever credits you send will automatically be added as undergraduate credits.
I do see that LawShelf has an equivalency chart for Excelsior.
I finished my degree at Excelsior many years ago, I also have my Masters degree. I’m in the VUL DHA program and I need additional graduate credits to avoid the externship. I thought maybe Excelsior could add the LawShelf graduate courses to my existing transcript but Excelsior does not recognize the courses as graduate level.
I do know from the LawShelf website they guarantee Troy University will accept all their courses, so that may be worth checking.

Maybe contact Coopersmith and LawShelf to see who accepts these are graduate credits?

I'm considering Excelsior or TESU because the federal government will recognize alternative credits if they're accepted as college-level by an accredited college. I missed out on a position within my agency because I didn't have enough graduate-level legal studies credits.
Will that work with OneTranscript? I never saw the value of those transcript banks, but I guess that's one situation where they'd be handy.
Just so I have it all straight, those transcript banks only accept credit that they would normally accept in a degree program, right? You couldn't just throw any old credit into them. Has to be something they would normally accept. So, COSC doesn't accept NA, but EC does. So I could put NA credit into an EC bank, but not into one at COSC. Am I looking at that right?
I'm very interested to know how that works out for you.

Did you finish your master's degree at Excelsior? Did VUL say they would accept alternative credits? The source of the credits would be on the transcript.

Excelsior will put any credits on the OneTranscript that they would accept based on accreditation, NCCRS/ACE recommendation, or their own evaluation of certifications and professional training. The credits don't have to apply to one of their degree programs.
Here's the response I received from Excelsior. It looks like the OneTranscript won't work for those who need to prove they have graduate credits.
Thank you for your interest in the Excelsior College’s OneTranscript service.
If NCCRS has determined the course you completed is equivalent to graduate level credits, then we would honor this as graduate level credit.
However, the actual official transcript does NOT list the level of credits. Therefore, even though we would accept the course as graduate level, it will not show this on the transcript.
The reason for this is because the One Transcript service is for students who wish to consolidate all college level credits onto one master document.
IF you were an enrolled student seeking an Associates or Bachelor’s degree and the graduate level course would apply to the degrees, then the official transcript would reflect the course as graduate level.

VUL requires you have 90 graduate credits beyond the Bachelor's degree. The DHA program gives 36 hours and my Masters from American Public University gave me 36 leaving me 18 sh short. I may just do the VESI courses and just get it finished. I thought maybe you had a suggestion on how I could get these credits on some schools transcript. I think as long as the courses are transcribed as graduate credits with any college they should count towards the graduate credits needed. Please keep me posted if you find out anything else.

I would first confirm with VUL if they'll accept non-collegiate credits if they're posted on an accredited college's transcript.
TESU has a credit bank, so you can try contacting them. However, since you can have credits added to your transcript for free as an Excelsior graduate, I'd try arguing with them one more time.

Can they be credits in anything?
If so, try these options in addition to VESI:
Fresno Pacific University - Work at your own pace correspondence and online courses.
https://ce.fresno.edu/educator-courses/
Association of Career and Technical Education - 180 1 credit courses they say take 4 hours a piece to complete. Credit offered through University of Central Missouri once completed for additional fee.
Quote: CTE Learn courses are endorsed by the University of Central Missouri (UCM), a regionally accredited public university. Course participants have the opportunity to earn undergraduate or graduate credit for their completed CTE Learn courses. Participants earn 1 Semester Credit Hour (SCH) for any block of 4 CTE Learn courses. Award of graduate credits requires proof of a bachelor’s degree and submission of a reflection paper with each application.

https://www.ucmo.edu/college-of-educatio...cte-learn/
Graduate Credit Courses - self-paced online teacher courses. Credit offered through Humboldt State University for separate fee once completed.
https://www.graduatecreditcourses.com/course-catalog
Those may or may not work better than VESI for you, but each of those three paths will get you graduate credit on an official RA transcript. Just giving you more options to think about.

I think we should move this conversation to the VUL DHA forum but to answer your question yes the graduate credits can be in any subject as long as they are regionally or nationally accredited on a transcript. I would ask the school again because everything is subject to change since the program is early. They may in the future change the requirement for accepted credits as they may become selective and require credits to relate to the degree.
I personally used credits from my three prior master's degrees (criminal justice, public administration, and urban affairs) to fulfill the requirement.

I contacted Jacksonville for more info about this degree. There's not much info about what classes you'll need to complete or the subject areas. Says you need 2 different subject areas but not much else.
