Grad timing at TESC
#1
Advice needed on when my last two tests should be finished in order to graduate.
I only have Substance and Soviet left to graduate (everything else is finished and showing on my eval). My question is when do I need to finish these tests in order to give TESC time to get them all recorded and still graduate..
I know TESC is VERY slow and I'd like to not have to stress too much about if they will get things processed in time.
I'd like to graduate at the end of this year (not even sure what the month is of grad) I have seen a number of different months posted. So any advice on how this finishing up process works would be appreciated.
Thanks everyone for all your help through this process! I see the end in sight....

Thanks. I got that part.
My concern is getting the DSST score to TESC (usually 2 weeks), then TESC to acknowledge receipt (another 2 weeks), then the info to get posted on my official transcript( some say another 4 weeks-YIKES). That means I need to be done by Feb 1st to graduate in June??? That doesn't seem right (plus I won't make it)!

Any of you veterans out there remember if it really takes that long???

I sent my last ACE transcript into TESC on 1/6 it was received on 1/7. And the course was added to my evaluation on 1/16.

I applied for graduation in December hoping for March graduation, I think that might make me a "priority". That is only an assumption but a 7 day turnaround on adding courses to my eval. is my quickest by far.

Thanks!
That makes me feel better. I am hoping to finish my last test by the end of Feb. which would give a whole month for it to get to TESC before the Apr.1st deadline. Sounds like I should be good to go.

Can't believe I am finally down to the last 6 credits....

Yeah, I think you will make it. Talk to your advisor. My advisor told me that even if I had passed the CLEP's I needed to get a printout from the testing site with the passing grade and then call her and fax it to the school. She would then expedite the review in time. As soon as I passed the course, I did exactly what she said and contacted the school and sent in the unofficial pass, so that by the time CLEP/College Board released the results it only took a couple days. Usually it takes "25 business days" but sometimes it's faster and sometimes it's not. But the average is usually a couple weeks from the time they get the exam until the time it's credited on your transcript. As far as TESC getting CLEP or DSST scores, I have heard CLEP since it's in Princeton is fast for TESC, and for me that's been true. I can take a CLEP on a Monday afternoon and it's at TESC usually by that Wednesday. But TESC review has to happen so know if/how/where those credits fit onto your transcript and that can take some time. These folks are doing this review for thousands of students all the time, so I do try to give them a break and try to show patience. But with you being so close to the finish line I understand your desire to know where you stand. The best place I have found for an answer on timing is my academic advisor. That and hitting the "Academic Evaluation" button on the student page like a video game addict plays Minecraft.

Hang in there and let us know how long it takes YOU to get the credit on your transcript Smile

Thanks and hope this helps!
