Hi all, I really want to get a degree in Geography with a focus in GIS. Myself and hubby are South African here on visa’s and in the process of getting our green card so do not qualify for any financial assistance. Have been looking around and found Liberty University who are offering a BS in Geography - Physical Geography. With all my reading and researching I can definitely get a couple of transfers in with Sophia and Study.com. They also offer a 15% discount through Sophia. Basically just wanting to know if there is a sample degree plan for this and if this is the cheapest/quickest option?
Thanks in advance!!

Some other options. Make sure you really research Liberty University before you go down that path. There are other online options out there.

Liberty is fine. They have some religious spins on things but no worse than 90% of the schools recommended here. They have decent tuition discounts too.

ASU online is going to be EXPENSIVE

Welcome to the board, maybe a different approach can be done, complete a very inexpensive Bachelors, then go on with a Masters degree from an institution of your choice when you get your green card. You can find a company that provides tuition assistance or reimbursement if at all possible, or use financial aid. There are several online Masters options that are similar to Geography or GIS in the graduate forum for 10K-15K, add that to your Bachelors and you've got both for $20K roughly.
