I did go on ACE courses and I still do not see them listed under the course section to be able to add to a transcript. My question is are these classes Pass/Fail or are they letter grades under ACE?

My question is are these classes Pass/Fail or are they letter grades under ACE? I think that is up to the receiving schools policy on ACE . My best guess based on the following** from Straighterlines FAQ section "How do I earn credits through ACE?" is that you only need a 70% to pass , as with other ACE credits such as ALEKS, they would be pass /fail if coming in on an ACE transcript . It seems you have a choice between how you have them transcribed, so if getting a grade matters, perhaps stick with a partner school transcript such as FHSU for Straighterline courses. ** 1. Be sure the college in which you want to enroll will accept ACE recommended courses. If not, consider one of Straighterline's partner colleges. 2. Successfully complete a Straighterline course (70% or higher final average). 3. Sign up for the ACE Transcript Service found here. There will be a $40 fee to sign up which includes the submission of one transcript. 4. Have the transcript sent to the college in which you want to enroll.

I think you are right. It probably is Pass with over 70% and letter grade with the partner schools. Thanks for the research.

For anyone curious about how an ACe transcript looks, here is a link to the sample ACE has on their website.

Wow...What interesting timing. I have been planning to do the courses for several months, but was finally going to get started next week. I really hope that you can still receive grades through the partner colleges, as I need those graded credits to get honors at Excelsior. If anyone talks to someone at Straighterline and finds out for sure if you can still get graded credits, please let us all know. Thank you!

Interesting, Straighterline has removed all partner college vs. course associations. You can't tell who accepts what.

I was just wondering what people thought about the new pricing structure they're using.
$99 + $39/course One on hand I like the fact that you can sign up and take 2-3 courses at the same time now just by paying $39 for each extra course, but the tradeoff is that you don't get as much bang for your buck and you're going to pay the same amount if you work through the same number of courses one at a time in the 28 days. Its still about as cheap as taking a course or two through a community college, but at a much faster pace. I'm still looking at doing English I and Econ I & II through them. Depending on how fast I get done with English I, maybe I'll sign up for English II for giggles. $40 additional for 3 credits still isn't too bad.
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Wile E. Coyote, genius. I am not selling anything nor am I working my way through college, so let's get down to basics: you are a rabbit and I am going to eat you for supper. Now don't try to get away, I am more muscular, more cunning, faster and larger than you are, and I am a genius, while you could hardly pass the entrance examinations to kindergarten, so I'll give you the customary two minutes to say your prayers.

Quick question:
If I were to sign up for a class then apply and get into FHSU for their transcript, would I be charged $40 per time I transfer a class or is that a one time fee for the app? So if I were to take more classes over the summer, I could put them on there with no additional fee?

If I understnd your question correctly, you only need to pay FHSU the app fee once. FHSU will accept the Straighterline course's once they are completed for the one-time app fee.
