After inquiring with Straighterline about the free course promotion I was told something great was on the horizon. The representative wouldn't be specific but when I asked about the ACE review her response was, "all announcements will be made on the website redesign expected within the month."
If they've indeed passed review and gained ACE cert. this is AWESOME for those of us seeking degree in the areas of business.
After failing Microecon by one point, I'm left in a holding pattern for six months, this may be the answer to my prayers, stay tuned.

I think if they get ACE approved it will change things.
On the plus side, you should only need to achieve 70% in the coursework to get the credit.
On the negative side, if they are ace reviewed, then more then likely the accepting college will post it as a pass grade, so that means no longer using Straighterline courses as a way to increase GPA.
I do think though it is a good thing and I hope they will branch out even further into other courses and maybe even some upper level stuff.

I'm for the 70% deal. Better yet, let's make it 65%.

this link looks fishy, I can't find anything on the straighterline website or via 'straighterline' searches on the Acenet.edu website.

Rhashad,
That link is real. Here is another for the search on the ACE website
ACE | National Guide Online | Browse The Guide
If I was you I would verify with your school they will accept this ACE credit at their school before signing up to take the economics course

thanks, for the link and advice. I'm at TESC and it's probably a good idea to double-check.

I do find it interesting that SL's Business Stats course is listed as being recommended for 3 hours LL credit, while ALEKS' Business Stats course is recommended as 3 hours UL credit.
I wonder when SL will start appearing in the course searches once you're logged in. Until they show up on that list, I'm going to wait to do my 3 SL courses.
Either way, they just saved me $35 ($30 for the Fort Hayes app fee and $5 for the transcript fee...) and a bit of extra time waiting on yet another transcript to arrive when I make my push towards grad at Excelsior.
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Wile E. Coyote, genius. I am not selling anything nor am I working my way through college, so let's get down to basics: you are a rabbit and I am going to eat you for supper. Now don't try to get away, I am more muscular, more cunning, faster and larger than you are, and I am a genius, while you could hardly pass the entrance examinations to kindergarten, so I'll give you the customary two minutes to say your prayers.
Bachelor of Science in PsychoRabbitology degree
Master of Education with a specialty in Rabbit-specific destructive munitions (or eLearning & Technology, I forget which)
Doctor of Philosophy in Wile E. Leadership with an area of specialty in Acme Mind Expansion - 2017 Hopefully

Wouldn't this be bad for most of us who are looking to transfer credit to traditional universities? I know my school, Humboldt State University would accept credits from Potomac or Fort Hayes, but I am not sure they would accept those from ACE. Would this mean Straighterline will be able to offer more courses?
