GRE Subject Tests
Eh, that's a bit inconvenient when I am outside of the USA atm, and not planning on applying for another year. I might shoot them an email inquiry though.

I was wondering about the CS GRE. I found an online master's that is super cheap (5k cheap) and they accept any bachelor's if you can get in 50th percentile in this test. This is great for me, since I am graduating soon with a bachelor's in English.

I've taken two programming courses - Java and C# - and I did pretty well. How much studying would this take? Is it doable? Are there training courses that will teach you all you need to know?

I've looked at the CS GRE Subject. Its not pretty. You need a lot of indepth knowledge about theory, as well as everything else.

The only training course I've seen is a bachelors in Computer Science... Not trying to be snarky at all, but the subject matter is pretty deep. To get an idea of it, download the .pdf for the test from ETS...
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Wile E. Coyote, genius. I am not selling anything nor am I working my way through college, so let's get down to basics: you are a rabbit and I am going to eat you for supper. Now don't try to get away, I am more muscular, more cunning, faster and larger than you are, and I am a genius, while you could hardly pass the entrance examinations to kindergarten, so I'll give you the customary two minutes to say your prayers.

Bachelor of Science in PsychoRabbitology degree
Master of Education with a specialty in Rabbit-specific destructive munitions (or eLearning & Technology, I forget which)
Doctor of Philosophy in Wile E. Leadership with an area of specialty in Acme Mind Expansion - 2017 Hopefully

Are you knowledgeable in CS? I only took 2 programming courses and some of that stuff is familiar. I certainly would need to study a lot for it, but saying, "The only training course I've seen is a bachelors in Computer Science" is not really meaningful. I haven't seen many things that exist. If, on the other hand, you have looked and searched and came up empty-handed and you think that there is no way to learn this outside of actual college classes, then OK - but is that really true? People don't teach things outside of college classes? Anywhere?

I know of at least 3 members of this forum (myself included) who may take the Computer Science GRE.

It will be a long time before I start looking for study materials. When I do, I will check out this link for the Subject GREs Forum:

I wish you the best in preparing and taking this exam! Please come back and share your experiences with the study resources that you find to use. I'm sure it will be helpful to many.

If you would take a moment and look at the content in the test, you'd see what's involved. There are resources for everything on the test, obviously.

As far as background, I know nothing at all about cs,programming, system analysis. Not a thing.
