So a little background, I started testing jan 24th and am now a senior. I came in with all my electives knocked out already, so I've been testind gen ed. I'm at a point now where I'm halfway through the major credits.
So the question is, which I know no one has been given a real answer on by the advisors, what score do I need to get on the gre subject exam to knock out the two required courses that can't be tested at excelsior?
The advisors don't want to commit to anything and I was getting the impression that they'll apply the GRE by first subtracting prior coursework. There don't seem to be set scores for certain classes, they'll just duplicate anything y ou've already done. so if you already took abnormal psych, then they'll duplicate that and give you social psych instead. If you took social they'll duplicate social and give you abnormal. So if you have 15 credits, you'll have to earn that many to get any new courses, regardless what your distribution of current courses is in the major.
Who has had prior psych coursework when they took the gre and what came of it? did it just duplicate what you had until it was all duplicated before giving new classes or what? I don't mind it duplicating courses as long as it knocks out the two that I can't take, but the only thing I could get the advisors to say is "Shoot for 80%", which is no help at all since 80% of people don't get that
