Free or low cost Six Sigma White/Greenbelt Certification?
#41
Ditto Ransomsoul and Jody 7818. In my office, a master's degree used to be something novel. Now? It's a requirement. Why? Because of what they bring to the table. Really? The turn-over has become ridiculously high, and they're creating positions to fill in the skill gaps that these master's workers SHOULD have, but don't.

Some of us have pursued degrees simply to get a box checked off. Not to toot our own horn, but I've always had a sneaking suspicion that most of the forum members - with or without degrees - are smarter and better workers than many workers who got their degrees in the traditional manner. The desire to do a good job, I think, is a better indicator of how well any employee will perform than a wall full of degrees.

For the most part, I feel that way as well. However, there have been several times I have "lost out" on promotions because of the degree/certs. I am also working on my confidence level as well, but besides that point, I feel the need to obtain a degree to boost my general education/business knowledge and learn more. The certifications I'm looking at is to hone my skill set, so I'll be more valuable in my current position and can help others when they're in need of assistance.

I did the two FREE ones below. I think I will take the Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certified (SSYBC)™ from the The Management and Strategy Institute (MSI), 8 PCU's next. I like the fact that MSI is accredited by The International Association for Six Sigma Certification (IASSC).
