Thank you. My goal was to make a seemingly complex topic easy to understand. I really did try to make this concise, but it came out to be over 3,600 words. :p It's still a lot faster to read than a book. In the future, I might put together an article on majors that will make you competitive in the job market. There are a lot of misconceptions in this area too.

Sanantone, As one that's been here a while you have a lot to offer in this text to those who don't understand the issue. People download books of all sizes on Amazon. You and Cookderosa could come to an agreement to recommend each others work and both benefit. If they don't publish this and they haven't paid you for your work then you should have no qualms publishing this on amazon kindle or one of the other platforms like smashwords who'll list it on the download sites for a fee.

Thank you. I did give Jennifer a plug in the comments section of the article, but I don't know how much good it'll do. Judging by the lack of comments under the article, there is either lack of interest in the subject or the sheer size of the article scares people off.

I just checked it out. Don't be deterred. I can't tell you that "I" never go through the trouble of registering to leave a comment if it's a site I don't frequent. That just happened, I typed a nice note but then had to register.....yuck. I also had never heard of that site! It takes time. To give you a comparison, I uploaded a free 8 page ebook as a test before working on HS4CC. I did ZERO. I told NO ONE. I just let it set there to see what would happen (Amazon). 2 downloads in 6 months. LOL
There are certainly ways to market yourself, I especially LOVE the book called Guerrilla Marketing for Writers. It's 100 cheap/free ways to market yourself. Here's the thing, you either have time or money. Free things cost time. I have neither. So, in my case, I do exactly 2 things. I have a Facebook page that I post on about 5-6 times per week something interesting about college credit or testing. It has 360 likes, so it's not blazing any trails. (it's tied to a Twitter account, so it duplicates my FB posts- but I don't do anything else on Twitter, I've only been there about twice) The other thing I do is I have a link to my hardcopy in my siggy here. That's it. Now, early on I was tempted to try and make a big go of it- promote, drive sales, yap yap yap. Guess what? That's not my thing. I really don't care if no one buys my book. I talk here all day long for free. I've been talking here and I'll keep talking here. I'm not going to make any money selling my book, I'm not an author! I'm a mom. I home school. I teach culinary arts. I don't have brain space for a career. I just wanted to write down what was in my head. That's what I did, and it's there for anyone who wants it. So, for me, that's fine. I picked my 2 little things that I enjoy (posting here and on FB) and that's how I roll. The authors in Guerrilla Marketing are HIGHLY MOTIVATED.

This was done for free; I just want some people who know nothing about higher education to read it. If one person learns something from the article and does something with the knowledge, then I'll be happy.

That's good but if you put a 0.99 price tag on it at Amazon people will be more interested than if its free. The reason is that a lot of free stuff on Amazon is advertising for a collection of writings so people aren't bothered to download for free. Well at least I'm not bothering to download for free because of all the advertising I've downloaded that way
