After subscribing to an online magazine version on zinio.com, I remembered that they offered digital textbooks. Last time I checked, they only had the Genetics textbook as a free sample. Now I see that they added two more at:
New Textbooks, 50% off & Totally Digital, only McGraw-Hill & Zinio
Understanding Psychology and Understanding Business.
I had previously bought a digital textbook through coursesmart.com, but those textbooks expire after 6 months. Zinio's don't seem to have the same restriction.
A cool feature at Zinio, depending on the publication, you may be allowed to send digital copies to friends for free (they even want you to spread the word). Not bad. I can confirm that Women's/Men's Health support this feature.
All that's missing is a good ebook reader, after many failed experiences, I'm still holding out for the ultimate device, but things seem to be progressing too slowly on that front. Nothing beats print, yet (I know, some of you are thinking: nothing beats forests as much as print).
