Fort Hays General Studies - no math?
#1
I've been working in IT for a long time without a degree, mostly because of my dislike for Math. I see on the Fort Hays State University website they have a "General Studies" degree which has no Math required. They even have a "Web Development Concentration".

https://www.fhsu.edu/bgs/Web-Development-Studies/

Is this for real?

They do mention this:

Natural Sciences and Mathematics (12 Credit Hours): Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Geosciences (Geography and Geology), Mathematics and Physics

It's true. You may not need a 2nd language either.

General Education - Fort Hays State University

"No modern language or mathematics course required"

I have never actually made it through a semester with Fort Hays, (because of my indecision) but I have been impressed with them. Be sure to take a look at which CLEP and DSST exams they accept. In addition, you will need 60 credits from a 4 year school. Their requirements are far stricter than the big 3.

BGS Requirements:
  • A maximum of 40 hours from one department.
  • A minimum grade point average of 2.0.
  • A minimum of 45 hours of upper division course work.
  • 60 hours must come from a 4-year school.
  • No modern language or mathematics course require
  • A maximum of 30 hours of credit from credit-by-examination programs may be applied toward a Fort Hays State University degree.
