Foreign CLEP
#1
It's been almost 3 years since I've taken a foreign language class which was in high school (I am a college sophmore right now). My french language is very very rusty. My question is how hard has the French CLEP been for everyone? Although I'm sure most of you who have taken it have fluency in French, has anyone who started from scratch without really knowing the language at all passed?

Thanks

I haven't taken this exam, but there's some good tips in the exam specific feedback for this exam from people who have taken it. http://www.degreeforum.net/specific-exam...guage+CLEP I know it would take me a very long time and a lot of study to feel comfortable enough to take the foreign language exams. Some people just have a knack for languages, though. I do hope to learn another language someday. Here's some resources for learning foreign languages:

Here's the thread where they discussed all these sites, although they were mostly talking about learning Spanish:

This is off topic, but here's a site someone recommended for Spanish:

Good luck! If you do decide to go for it, let us know how you do!

I am just starting to study for this.

Be sure to check the feedback for all 3 language CLEPs – French, Spanish, and German. You might find another tip or resource

Also, look at the practice test in the Official CLEP Guide. That will tell you what level of knowledge you need.

Thank you, Alissa, for all of these resources. I’ll save them, too.

Thanks a lot Alissa. I just started picking up on Rosetta Stone so hopefully in two months or so I can feel comfortable with taking a CLEP. Thanks for all the other links as well. I'll take a look at them.
