Flashcards
#11
JanusthePhoenix Wrote:I use the 'flashcards' more as a study guide than actual flashcards. Sometimes I don't even read the question before I bring up the answer. IC is usually a very good indicator of exactly what concepts I will be tested on. Then all I have to do is learn those concepts, whether it be via IC, wikipedia, or a companion website for a textbook. That way I don't so much memorize the questions and answers as I get an overall 'feel' for the material to where I can answer almost any question asked about the concepts. At least for a couple of weeks until I need to make room in my brain for the next test. Rolleyes

+1 to this method. Stay away from JUST using the flashcards I think that could potentially get you into trouble. Use the flash cards with a test prep book or textbook. If you do this I think you'll will get a more rounded perspective and help the flash cards make more sense.

The exception to this would be if you were already at least somewhat familiar with the subject/terminology.

Looks like I am just a poor learner lol.

According to the website, you're fairly well balanced and should be able to absorb most teaching/learning styles. I scored almost the same as you except for a 9 in Sen. I don't put a lot of stock in these type of surveys...if you want it bad enough you'll find what works for you and muscle through.

I took a lot of upper level Psych tests using just the IC cards and I didn't know the first thing about psychology (I scored well too using just IC)...it really comes down to the the individual and working out what study techniques suite you the best...this is something you will have to figure out for yourself.

Don't give up and use the collective knowledge of this forum to aid you in your studies.
