Ok, so I have my target in site: BS in Electrical Engineering Technology with focus in Electronics.
I will be using this thread to chronicle my progress and get feedback as I move through this, as well as share my experiences with others.
I have a long way to go even in the most favorable of credit evaluation scenarios, so here is my plan:
Take all the "Easy" general education requirements at a local Community college to buoy my GPA, and keep student loan people off my back/prevent interest from being capitalized. I might test out of some later on as well, depending on how things shake out.
While enrolled at the community college, I will pursue mathematics and physics courses via ALEKS/Straighterline/CLEP/DSST. I think I will start with ALEKS and get as much mileage out of it as I can for math.
I hope to obtain credits for all math courses up to Calc IIand differential equations in 2003. In addition, I hope to get two Physics courses knocked out.
After that point hopefully there are a few electronics classes I can take at the local community college as well, I will have to compare and get them preapproved. However I cannot have them approve those technical courses until after I have enrolled at Excelsior. I am thinking of doing so this spring, if only to take the required information literacy class, which is 1 credit hour.
I have my transcripts on the way from all my previous institutions for Excelsior to review, and have put in my application.
I am coming in with the following:
AAS in Computer Network Systems from ITT, most likely completely useless credit wise. Who knows, maybe I will get lucky.
15 credits from BPCC:
14 credits from Devry:
3 Credits thus from from GCC
The following technical certifications:
The following military training:
