Finish Line is Near - Need College Algebra to Complete BSBA in Finance (TESU)

1) don't have a 2nd science course (only CIS-201)
2) don't have the Prin of Finance in the core
3) don't have a 6th AoS course in Finance

So I'm probably going with:
- ONU for the science course for $150 (BIO 201 - General Biological Science or CHE 101: Chemistry or GEO 121: Physical Geography)
- Davar for FIN-301: Intro to Finance and FIN-401: Corporate Finance OR
- Study.com for FIN 104: Financial Management and FIN 301: Corporate Finance

That solves all of your problems (gets your RA and missing courses) except for College Algebra, which I'm probably going to do via ALEKS, Sophia, or take a walk on the wild side and do Saylor for $5 and see how it goes.

So I forgot to mention that. I took Principles of Finance and Environmental Science DSSTs but Prometric never sent the transcripts. I'm still trying to work things out with them but also not sure if it will make a difference since I'm at the max for ACE credits. Guess I should check with an advisor at TESU and see what can be tweaked around.

And yeah, looks like I've been misreading my academic evaluation. I had enrolled in a course that I had to drop before it started but it still shows as a pending course. So this whole time I've been thinking I've satisfied the Finance courses. Bummer.

Thanks for the recommendations! What science course do you think would be the easiest to get an A to boost GPA?

Whichever one you think you'll do the best in.  ONU is self-paced, and you don't put it on a transcript until close to the end.  So I'd probably take Geology, and then do everything, and if you have a high A when you are ready to take the final, then get it transcripted (that's when you pay the $150, take the final, and get a final grade).

You only need 1 additional RA course, once you have 30cr (the 22 you had going in + 3cr for Business in Society +3 from ONU + 3cr for the capstone is 31cr RA.  So you can do the rest however you want.

And, just a quick note, one of the reasons you've "maxed out" on ACE credit is because you have too many credits (I show you  at 124cr).  So they will remove one of your Free Electives.  But it's much easier to just make sure that you have 30cr of RA.

One easy TECEP
Computer Concepts and Applications (CIS-107-TE)

Download Fireshot Chrome browser plugin and then you can select "capture selection" and save it as a pdf. Then upload that pdf of your academic evaluation.

Here's my academic evaluation.

For anyone interested here is my current academic evaluation from TESU.

I just registered for Fundraising for Non-Profits FDR 440 to satisfy my remaining AoS credit. According to TESU's available courses it was either between that or Risk Management. I have a scheduled appointment to talk to an advisor next week to see if there's other ways to satisfy that credit like Study.com's Corporate Finance course. Would be nice to save some money there.

I'm still waiting to hear back from Prometric about my Principles of Finance and Environmental Science DSSTs not having been transferred successfully. I should hear back in 3-5 business days.

Still awaiting results for the Business in Society TECEP (I feel like I passed but you never know) and the College Algebra TECEP I didn't pass.

I'll update this page if anything changes.

Thanks for all the help and advice so far. You guys are amazing.

The Environmental Science DSST will work as your science; the Prin of Finance DSST will work for your core.  That leaves 1 AoS course, which you can get via Study.com or Davar (Davar will be cheaper).  It does depend on when you took the Finance DSST exam though - because it depends on whether it was UL or LL at the time.  So list the date for that so we can tell you what to do.

Then, you still need an RA course, you may as well make it count: consider taking the Principles of Finance UExcel exam.  It's UL, so it may or may not overlap with the DSST; so you'll need to figure that out.

Principles of Finance I passed in June of 2020.
Passed the Business in Society TECEP.
Now I'm registered for Fundraising for Non-profits as my last AoS course.

Then I just need College Algebra [groan] and my Capstone.

You've got 3 courses left! If that's the last couple of courses you need, one option is to take an easy TECEP that "duplicates" your CLEP/DSST, and take the college algebra from Sophia.org or another provider. You can then take the final Capstone by itself to seal the deal... OMG, you're already there!

Drop the Fundraising for Nonprofits (-$1557), take FIN-401: Corporate Finance from Saylor ($5 for proctored final exam, comes in as FIN-301), and take an easy TECEP like Applied Liberal Arts Math for your RA ($150 - this will replace a GE course from CLEP/DSST). Take the College Algebra CLEP via ModernStates for free, or ALEKS for $20/mo.

Just saved you $1400 and a ton of time and effort.

You need to recalculate your tuition, are you on military or are you on the civilian tuition rate? You should decide to complete the required residency requirements as you are so close to it as well as the 30 RA requirements. I would recommend completing courses versus paying the residency waiver as you don't need that many left.

That's the TES-100 Cornerstone: Lifelong Learning which was the previous cornerstone until they changed it to the current Critical Information Literacy SOS-110. The OP's on an older catalog year and that's the reason they're allowed to continue with the "old" catalog requirements...
