Finding Desirable Testing Locations/Frequencies
#1
I've gone through pretty much every testing center for both the DSST and CLEP exams in my region (there are maybe 5 total, within ~1 hr drive). Some of them won't have anything until the fall, and others require one test per day (sometimes choice between DSST or CLEP), on a monthly schedule, and you have to sign up before the month starts, which is something of an annoyance if you are uncertain if you can study up within the narrow time period that would allow. What I'd like to do is spend a week per course, and take an exam once a week. I'm not sure I can do this with the limited testing offerings, and when I schedule them, I won't be certain I'll have acquired the necessary knowledge by exam time. How have others managed to adapt the capricious and inflexible exam schedules for their regions? It really seems like it's set up to discourage course blitzing.

Wow, that sounds tough. I guess I should count my blessings. I have a great testing center, very small, I can pretty much just go whenever I want to. I suppose if it doesn't cost to cancel appointments, you could just schedule for several different appointments for the same test at the begining of the month, then cancel the earlier ones if you need to until you're ready. I don't know if that makes sense or not. Smile
well, good luck

Well, I found a testing center that offers CLEP exams daily, by appt. That certainly helps. Now just have to worry about DSST.
