Finding Cheap or Free Credits Project
#21
Nothing in B

In A we have lots of sources that we already know about:

ALEKS
Align Degree
Alternative Credit Project Ecosystem
ACTFL foreign language exams
The Institutes offers our favorite free Insurance Ethics course

Here's one that I don't remember discussing:
American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI)
https://www.ahlei.org/Programs/Distance-Learning/

They have upper and lower level courses online, with prices from $250 for one 3-hour course to a "Diploma Pack" of 12 courses for $2200. Member rates are even cheaper (from $200 to $1760 for the diploma pack). Even better, they offer challenge exams for those with experience.

I think I have run out of letters for ACE. Smile

The American Educational Institute offers courses on law. They mail you the study materials, and you take your exam online. The cost is $175 for single courses. Each course is usually only worth one credit hour, but since they offer a lot of courses that are evaluated by NCCRS at the graduate level, I thought they were worth a mention.

The Association of Hebraic Studies Institute offers correspondence courses for $50 per credit hour. It's kind of hard to navigate their website and find information. There was a thread on them back in 2008. They have a good selection of biblical, education, and Hebrew courses evaluated by NCCRS.

Eureka, I've been looking for three more hours of education credit to make a depth in Excelsior's BSLA program. $150 isn't bad at all.

This is also over $100 per credit hour, but I thought it was worth mentioning since it is evaluated at the graduate level, and the organization states that it will be accepted at the graduate level at Excelsior and Trinity International University. Perspectives of the World Christian Movement offers an online (and independent study) course called Perspectves of the World Christian Movement for $405. It is evaluated by NCCRS for three credit hours. $135 per credit hour for a graduate course is not bad.

This is the last one until I receive responses to my emails. Rechtschaffen Institute of Judaic Studies has been mentioned a few times on this forum, but I think people have forgotten about them. They offer courses on the Bible, Jewish history, Jewish law, Hebrew, philosophy, political science, and the Talmud. Courses cost $50 per credit hour, exams are taken through ProctorU, and their credits are evaluated for credit by NCCRS.
