Financial AID
#1
I asked Financial Aid re full awards, and they said if you get the highest pell grant you cant get the can get the entire 6 credits - cornerstone and capstone. And then pay the residency out of pocket? Can someone tell me if one gets the highest award, what is the best option to save on cost. Should one really take 16 classes? It cannot be spread out? Do scholarships help for TESU?

6 credits is part time. The theory is that you're working so you can pay the tuition and fees yourself out of pocket. A full time student has a much more difficult time working a full time job to pay for classes so they get full financial aid packages. It's rare to find a scholarship for part time students. Not saying they don't exist, but they're not common and scholarships are very competitive.

You need to look at the full picture. How much is the degree total going to cost you attending part time versus full time? Don't use financial aid in this calculation. If you get it great, but don't count on it.

The highest pell grant is not enough to cover all fot he capstone and cornerstone completely.

The way the pell grant works if you get more money if you take more credits. I'm not sure exactly how much more money it depends on how much money you get to begin with.

I'd fill out a fasfa and and enroll at Tesu. That is the only way to know if you get any money at all and how much you get for tesu. You might not even get aid (besides loans) not everyone gets grants or scholarships.

According to the TESU website I found the max pell grant gives you about $1k per term. Idk how outdated that is though. Don't take that as for sure information.

The residency waiver can't be paid for with aid.

It is not part time for tesu. The financial aid office says they work differently you still get the full amount for 6 credits.

I guess 6cr a term is full-time with TESU as they use Pell Formula 3.

6cr x 4 terms = 24cr which is full-time.
