Yeah, it's an institutional credit but with that CR grade I'm not sure what transfer schools would think about it. I don't think many schools would teach an English Comp course as Pass/Fail (most colleges I've seen around me only do pass/fail on developmental courses) so it may cause you to explain things.
My completed "non-traditional" credits include 27 credits from CLEP, 30 credits from DSST, 6 credits from ALEKS, 19 credits from FEMA courses including PDS, 3 credits from NFA courses, 10 credits from ACE Workplace Training, 3 credits from a TESC TECEP exam, and 3 credits from a TESC PLA course.

During 2010, CLEP retired the exams titled Freshman College Composition, English Composition, and English Composition with Essay, but replaced them with the exams titled
College Composition Modular and
College Composition.
The latter two are available today. College Composition Modular contains multiple-choice items and an essay section wherein the essay section is scored, and its questions can be custom-set, by participating colleges. College Composition (non-Modular) "contains multiple-choice items and two mandatory, centrally scored essays," scored by the CLEP program.

TESC
course exams, at least in many cases, can be proctored online by ProctorU. TECEPs are different. As of the last information I can find quickly, TECEP exams cannot be proctored by ProctorU. The TESC account on Facebook, in a post from January 16:
Thomas Edison State College Wrote:the college does not offer ProctorU for its TECEP exams at this time. TECEP exams are offered in a pen and paper format and can be taken in Trenton, NJ or at a proctored site closer to your home.
Are any of the TECEPÂ exams available by way of ProctorU testing?? (via facebook.com/tesc.edu)
