Failed American Government
#1
I felt confident during the test. So many of the questions came straight out of IC. I'm shocked and disappointed in myself.

This is the first CLEP test I have taken so far. =(

The AmGov exam is one of those exams that have taken many people by surprise. You are but one of many who have reported feeling quite confident about the exam only to receive a failing score.

Take heart, you are not alone and things will get better - Good Luck!!

thats a bummer, sorry you had a rough start. I know it seems like time and $ wasted, but it WILL pay off if you get back up and try again.

I'm sorry! A lot people have trouble with that one...don't feel like a knucklehead. Persevere...the next one won't be so bad!

I was two points away from passing! 48! I went back to change some of my answers, so perhaps that's what caused me to fail? I don't know what happened. Two points...now I have to wait another six months.

I'm taking the psychology CLEP next.

Get a good night's rest and pace yourself. Mark all the answers you're not sure of because you'll have time left over to double check all of them. I didn't mark two of them! I learned my lesson.

I felt as badly as you do when I didn't pass this in December. I'm retaking it next week, so I just hope I do better. My test center was noisy, cold/hot and the computer monitor was horrible. CLEP is allowing me to retake it at no cost because they confirmed all the issues in my complaint, but I still had to wait 2 months. I was so disgusted when I left and had such a migraine from straining to see with an out of focus monitor. It was the worst test center experience I have ever had. Needless to say I'm taking it a different test center next week. After the last time and reading how others were surprised at their scores, I just want to pass. My understanding is EC will just issue a pass/fail grade, no letter grade, so I just want to pass! Keep your chin up and know you are not alone in coming so close but feeling so far away! I didn't have IC last time and only used Cliff Notes review along with the text We The People. I like the format of the text, but didn't really read it all the way through. I'm hoping to spend more time studying and I hope I retained some of what I learned last time. Good luck with your next exam and next try at Amer. Govt.

This is a difficult exam. AG CLEP was my most difficult test so far. Most people average 5-10 points lower on this exam than others they have taken. Try not to beat yourself up. That was a tough test to start out with.

Keep your chin up and keep moving forward! Sometimes the test you think is a sure fire pass ends up sneaking up on you. You say that you noticed a good portion of the material that was covered through IC. Was it just that you didn't remember some of the answers? You should still go post in the exam feedback section and a positive way to look at it is that you are helping someone else that may be having problems as well. Good luck on your next exam! Smile
