FYI | TESU - Data Analytics
#11
The coupon is available for only 1 course.

(11-29-2019, 05:29 PM)bjcheung77 Wrote: Zach, TESU only allows 12 credits MAX transfer to their Masters program.  That means you must complete 24 credits from them.  I usually would recommend going with WGU for the Masters in Data Analytics, you can get a Udacity Nanodegree included in the price of tuition.

Having said that, many people don't know about the Bachelors to Masters tuition discounts on 12 credits.  This is also in addition to the 3 course (9 credits transferable to TESU from Statistics.com, you can transfer 3 more credits if needed elsewhere).  That leads you to only doing 12 graduate credits at TESU to finish off the degree.  BUT, since you're doing two degrees already, you will not have that option of doing the Bachelors to Masters tuition.

And there is always a workaround for everything, haha... and I won't get to that as I know you wouldn't do it.  It's a time waster and you can get it from WGU anyways for much much cheaper.

Udacity Nanodegree is only available for BS not for MS.

statistics.com has revamped its website and added more courses.

I find it amusing someone posted about TESU's Data Analytics MS degree. I was looking into their BS in Data Science and Analytics.
Code:
https://www.tesu.edu/heavin/bs/data-science
... Statistics dot com is hella expensive and I'm a little p'd off that TESU doesn't offer those classes online themselves. The tuition cost goes through the roof!
Is there a better or equal program from another college that offers a BS in Data Sci and Analysis?

---
edit:
I ended up looking into other online degree providers and found SNHU(Non-profit, accredited) -- They have 3 types of Data Analysis programs: IT, CyberSec, Data Analytics w/ concentration in Project Management.

you know you can just post the link
you don't have to wrap it in code
in fact, wrapping it in code makes it not clickable

WGU probably has the least expensive program (depending how fast you can do it)
https://www.wgu.edu/online-it-degrees/da...ogram.html
but the program does require two oracle certifications which are supposed to be really difficult

and is SNHU really that much less expensive than TESU ?

I jsut did a quick glance and saw that its $960 per course

If you're  military you pay $675/course and if you have an AA or BA degree from a college they network with you can get an extra 10% off.
Personally, I like SNHU because they're 100% online and I can utilize the most aid with them. Tuition Assistance, Pell Grants, Scholarships, and transfer up to 90 Credits towards my degree track.
That said, I wasn't looking to compare price points between statistics.com vs snhu or anyone else. I was looking for a degree track in Data Analytics that wasn't junk because they're not all made equal.
Regardless, if someone is looking for an online BS in Data Analytics, SNHU is a good place to go.

which study.com transfers to WGU's
C755 Database Server Administration

this is what they accept as transfer
One upper division course in Database Design or Administration
or One of the following certifications:
Oracle Database 12c: Installation & Administration 1Z0-062,
MCSA: SQL 2016 Database Administration,
IBM Certified Database Administrator - DB2 11.1,
CIW Database Design Specialist 1D0-541,
MySQL 5.7 Database Administrator (1Z0-888).

https://partners.wgu.edu/Pages/BSDMDA.aspx

is it this one
Computer Science 303: Database Management
https://study.com/academy/course/compute...ement.html

this is the course description form study.com

Course Objective
The course objective is to identify and explain database technologies, management systems, design processes, applications, security, and administration.

so its sounds like it might transfer
but wow -- the final assignment is a joke (granted, I can only see up to prompt 7, but this is no way equivalent to an oracle administration certificate - this is level basic stuff)
https://study.com/academy/lesson/databas...ystem.html

and look at this joke of an exam
https://study.com/academy/exam/topic/cre...n-sql.html

LOL

however, ACE does rate it as 3 upper level credits
http://www2.acenet.edu/credit/?fuseactio...CE=1008350

but wow, if wgu does accept that as transfer then it is definitely the way to go
