Has anyone had any luck with getting a list of what FEMA credits are accepted and what credits they satisfy. I am trying to obtain a bachelors in Business but I would like to have a clear road map before I begin. I would like to use a combination of FEMA credits and clep/dantes courses to complete my degree. Any help would be appreciated.
I have emailed advisors and called and left messages at the college level and received no responses.

They use the Frederick Community College evaluation. Printable Course List
These count mainly as free electives.

So even though they asses credit in house they use the same course schedule as Fredrick? Is there any where that I could see what courses to take and which credits they satisfy towards a Business Degree?

The FEMA credits will show up on your COSC transcript the same way as shown on the Frederick list.
For any degree, you must complete the General Education Requirements: General Education Requirements - Charter Oak State College Catalog
For Business, you must also complete the Business Administration Concentration requirements: Business Administration - Charter Oak State College
For the remaining, there are many ways that you can complete the credits, but you must have 120 total credits, 30 total upper level credits, and 60 liberal arts credits.
This master list of exams is very helpful: https://www.charteroak.edu/current/acade...r-list.pdf
You may want to check out this discussion where I included a plan for a BS with a concentration in Business Administration at COSC. http://www.degreeforum.net/excelsior-tho...-cosc.html

I took a whole list of FEMA tests, and most assessed at COSC as free electives...BUT two of them- FEM134 Effective Communication and FEM 132 Leadership and Influence were given credit under Liberal Arts requirements...not sure if that will also be true for business.

Besides the two already mentioned: 113 Emergency Manager, 115 Radiological Emerg. Mgt., 116 Hazardous Materials, 108 Citizen's Guide to Disaster Assist, 109 and 110 Animals in Disaster Modules A and B, 175 Citizen Preparedness, 138 Livestock in Disaster, 141 Exercise Design, 128 State Disaster Mgt., 131 Principles of Emerg. Mgt., 140 Emergency Planning, 133 Decision Making & Problem Solving, 135 Developing & Managing Volunteers, 144 Coord. Environ/Historic Preservation, 127 Anticipate Hazard Wthr/Comm Risk, 105 Retrofitting Flood-Prone Structure, 122 Community Hurricane Preparedness, 145 Hazardous Material Prevention, 156 Multi-Hazard Emerg Plan for Schools, 157 Intro to Hazard Mitigation, 158 Protect Home/Small Bus. Disaster.
That being said, I took all of these several years ago...some of them may have changed. Be sure and check the current list, and if you have already been accepted at COSC- check with your advisor- they have the final say.

Good luck Juiceddc2...I just finished 37 FEMA credits in the past week and a half. It's goes fast once you get the swing of things. I haven't applied to COSC yet, but I did use that Printable Course List link above for reference. By the way...I called to confirm and it's exactly as ZsaZsa said, most of the FEMA credits will transfer in as free electives as long as they're on that Course List from Frederick's.
Have fun!! and Happy New Year.
