FEMA courses for BSBA from COSC

Can someone suggest which FEMA courses would be good for BSBA from COSC? Also what kind of credit requirements would these courses fill up?

Once you take the courses, have the transcript sent directly from FEMA to COSC. (There will be no cost for any of this.)

These courses do not fulfill any particular requirements for the BSBA except for free electives. A few of the courses will count as liberal arts credit, such as courses involving technical writing or communication.

Should I take the FEMA courses while enrolled at COSC and actively transfer them as I complete them? I don't plan on signing up with COSC until I have to take the Capstone when I am almost done. Or, should I complete the FEMA before signing up with COSC? Thanks.

If you have time now take them now. They have consistently taken them for a long time.

Look through the guidelines, you won't have room for very many free electives. They will of course be a great time and money saver...but if I recall there is only room for a half dozen or so free electives within the COSC BSBA.

Consider including the FEMA PDS (Professional Development Series) 7 courses that will give you 6 free elective credit, but you also get to pad the resume with a Management Cert from FEMA.

Actually, I used over 20 FEMA credits for the BSBA at COSC (without going over 120). :coolgleam:

Here is a tip that might help someone. Don't panic if you apply at COSC and all of your FEMA credits are not placed on your transcript. This does not mean that they are not accepting them. They do not want you to end up with 150 total credits and 30 unnecessary free electives. They will hold the credits for you, and once you are ready to take your capstone, they will add more FEMA credits to your transcript if you still lack free electives.
