From your message I'm presuming that this is all I need to transfer the credit to FCC; I'll give it a try now.

Yes that's right. You are in their database now. All FCC has to do is look up your record.

Good luck,

Hey Ron -

Go to the original FEMA "Course List" page and look to the left side margin. You should see a link listed as "College Credits."

Hit that and you will then be told that you are leaving the FEMA website to the EMI page.

Once there, hit another link in the left margin "Frederick Community College" that will bring you to another page. Once there, download the form listed, fill it out and either mail it in with a money order or fax with a credit card.

After it is processed there, they will send a transcript to the school of your choice (ie: Excelsior etc).

GOOD LUCK!!

So does the TESC bank option not work for Excelsior? According to that advisor's email it appears that the only option is going through that community college for $60 a pop.

For TESC you simply have FEMA send over your transcript directly to TESC. For Excelsior, however, we must first get the FEMA credit transcripted by ANY RA college and then have THAT transcript sent to Excelsior.

Steelers,

There is documented evidence that Excelsior DOES accept FEMA credits that have been transcripted with TESC Credit Bank.

What you need to do is SPECIFICALLY tell your advisor that you intend to transcript the FEMA credits using TESC's Credit Bank service since TESC has reviewed and evaluated the FEMA courses and will accept them on their RA transcript. Then ask your advisor to approve it. Don't take no for an answer....it has been done before. One guy got 41 credits worth of FEMA credit accepted by Excelsior after he placed the credits in a TESC credit bank account. If your advisor tells you that they only accept FEMA credits when transcripted by FCC, you need to politely press the issue!

Excelsior's only rule about this is that the FEMA credits MUST first be transcripted by an RA college. Since TESC is RA, Excelsior will accept the credits.

See if you can prove me wrong!

Am I right in assuming this one credit per test format costs sixty bucks a pop to transfer over to TESC? Sad

No, it does not cost 60 bucks per credit to transfer to TESC. TESC takes the transcript straight from FEMA and applies the credits. No Fredericks Community College needed. Whether or not Excelsior accepts them after that is an entirely different ballgame. I've heard that they do, but I have not substantiated it (as I'm only a TESC student currently). I HAVE substantiated that TESC does not require Fredericks Community College, though. They do NOT require it.
I'm an engineer. Go figure.
