Hello everyone,
Long time viewer first time poster. I just applied and was accepted into the BS in liberal arts program at Excelsior University.
I found these posts extremely helpful and have tried to follow the advice on this forum in regards to Sophia.com and Study.com to max out the credit I bring in.
I am currently sitting at 107 credits accepted by Excelsior and by my math I should be at the max 113. They are claiming I am 2 classes short specifically in the UL Arts and Science category and I don't think so..
I completed 4 UL SDC Psychology courses and Excelsior only appropriately credited me 3 UL credits for 1 course.
STUDY.COM 2022/FA ADVANCED ABNORMAL PSYCHOLOGY 306 - Excess Credit (not counted towards degree)
STUDY.COM 2022/FA INDUSTRIAL/ORGANIZATIONAL 301 - Excess Credit (not counted towards degree)
2022/FA COGNITIVE PSYCHOLOGY 302 -Taken through SDC however Excelsior counted this as LL when in ACE it is listed as UL
2022/FA PSYCHOLOGY OF MOTIVATION 315 - appropriately credited as a UL class by Excelsior
I don't need to win all these just 2 out of the 3 to get me to 113.
Do you all who have started me on this journey have any advice, tips or input?
If I am completely wrong I will take the Loss, go back to SDC and do two more classes but I didn't think I was.
I emailed the admissions counselor and got the line that "I can't fix it but will forward your email to the evaluator and he will reach out". Color me surprised I haven't heard anything from the evaluator.

Here's a link to the sdc excelsior list https://study.com/college/school/excelsior-college.html
using that transfer guide, looks like Psy 306, 301, and 302 transfer as LL into exclesior. It is the school that makes final determination even if/when ACE has it UL.

Thank you. Well that is unfortunate I thought they would go off what ACE recommends.
Do you know it Health 302, 303, 308 (listed as Health science / free elective) would cover the UL Arts and Science requirement?

Unfortunately, you used the ACE guide rather than the guide on SDC's website, which EU updates pretty regularly. A school is never required to accept ACE's recommendations, and EU goes their own way on a lot of stuff.
I would look at these:
- Psychology 316: Advanced Social Psychology
- Psychology 311: Physiological Psychology
- BUS 318: Management Ethics
- Sociology 305: Sociology of Work
- Business 313: Organizational Communication

My guess is no on those courses even though it says "science" in the Health Science part. Why? Health Science tends to be a different division in universities than "arts and sciences". I could be wrong on that. But....
Seconding to look at the UL courses suggested by the other poster as those seem to be a known yes.

No, those are not Arts & Sciences - Health Science is not considered the same as Natural Science at EU.

Can confirm, BUS 318 transferred in well for me recently as UL ethics. but as Humanities, not Science/Arts
Can also confirm that Soc 305 did transfer in well at UL science recently for me.
I also used Project management as UL but as elective.

Humanities courses ARE Arts & Sciences - Excelsior calls their Gen Ed courses "Arts & Sciences." So any Humanities, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, or Math courses will fit in this area.

Also worth mentioning that the Cornerstone and Capstone came in as A/S for me.

I've been told multiple times that EU does not consider the Cornerstone an A&S course - it's a Free Elective. So I guess YMMV on that one - because I've seen MANY evaluations from EU, and none had the Cornerstone as an A&S course.
