This is such a false statement. Allowing testing out for credit does not mean a college is a diploma mill, it allows students with prior knowledge / good test taking skills to complete a degree. There are 1,000 ways to skin a cat, and there are 1,000 different college each being unique. I always find it hard to believe that Public state schools would be considered diploma mills.

by the way I choose COSC for completely my degree and didn't even consider Excelsior, the seemed kind of shady.

There are UPenn students who think Harvard is a diploma mill. There are Harvard College students who think the Extension School is a diploma mill. There are snobs everywhere.

I'm just going to assume you do not know who Kitten Mittens is. Because you obviously don't get it. However, I left COSC for Excelsior for the same reason you didn't consider Excelsior, I found them to be shady. cheersmate

I didn't take it as an attack, I was just saying. My bad lol I didn't mean to come across as a jerk (it just sucks when they add more and more stuff that costs more money, but I understand that is the nature of the business)

I have come to the conclusion that regionally accredited, non-research, non-ivy, are all pretty much viewed the same. I have been enrolled at all three and ended up at Thomas Edison. I have no complaints with the way they do things.

I know the comment was made sarcastically, but I don't see how any of the Big 3 are becoming more like diploma mills. Excelsior's business communications, international business, and quantitative analysis requirements are similar to what TESC has already had for years. TESC requires business communications, international business or business in society, and college algebra or quantitative analysis. TESC stopped accepting FEMA, stopped accepting IT certs that weren't ACE-approved, and started requiring a capstone for almost all of its degree programs. I don't see how that is moving in the direction of a diploma mill. COSC got stricter with its English requirement and is creating majors that are better than its concentrations.

I don't think any of the Big 3 are shady, but that 6-credit capstone plus the enrollment fee for the multi-source option are going to make Excelsior more expensive for the business degree. It doesn't put Excelsior into UoP territory, however. SNHU is the non-profit that has modeled itself after UoP. They've openly stated this.
