Excelsior Admissions: Clep/Exam Timing & Campus Requirement for International Student
#1
Greetings everyone,
I have been conducting research and had the pleasure of speaking with an Admission Counselor from Excelsior College. They were very helpful and provided me with valuable information about their program. I was informed that, in order to gain access to an Academic Counselor and plan my degree, I must first enroll in Excelsior.

I have a few questions that I hope some of you may be able to assist me with:

 1. Should I take the CLEP/other exams prior to enrolling in Excelsior or vice versa?

 2. I was told that I must take at least three courses at Excelsior but can complete the rest outside of Excelsior. Is this accurate?

 3. As I am from Bangladesh, is it necessary for me to take an IELTS test to enroll in Excelsior?

I truly appreciate any support and guidance provided. Thank you.

First, you do have to enroll in EU to get good info; but, this does not mean that once you enroll, you will always get good info - you will sometimes get bad info.

1) going forward, it will be much cheaper and easier for EU students to bring in all of their credits prior to enrolling, because they're adding a $300 fee to do additional evaluations. So, create your degree plan, take all of your credits (and then some just in case), apply and send in ALL credits; get your evaluation, challenge if necessary w/in 30 days, and then enroll and take your courses

2) you must take Info Lit (1cr), the cornerstone (3cr) and the capstone (3cr) in order to graduate - the remaining 113cr can be brought in from RA schools, NA schools, some certificates, and ACE/NCCRS credits.

3) no idea, sorry
