Ethics In America v2
#1
Hi everyone, I passed the Ethics In America DSST exam today (8/20/12) with a 437 using only InstantCert. I used three of the study documents found in the links and the flashcards from IC.

This isn't an easy test at all. I put in around 25 hours of study time and memorized many of what I felt were the important topics. I know many posted that they saw a lot of Kant on their tests, well the test bank I drew had a lot of Locke on it and not much of Kant at all.

The first three questions were nothing like I'd seen on any of the flashcards or the tests and i thought I was going to implode. I finished the exam in 1.5 hours and had only 7 marked for follow-up and once again I thought I was going to fail the test. I had 94 questions and the last one was essay.

You do need to know how to apply what you've learned for this exam and it's definitely not something that you're going to memorize a few practice tests and pass this exam.

When you report that the last question was an essay, you did realize going in that there was an optional essay and to check with your university to see if they required that optional essay? If you did this, and were told that you did not need the essay (I have yet to hear from any of my testers that they needed to complete the essay), you just leave that last "question" blank.

I just took ethics in america today, I didn't know to check the school first before doing the essay but I did it, it stressed me out. I arrived at 9am and didnt get done until 110pm. It took me three hours to write an essay. The test wasn't to bad, It was multiple choice and alot of the answers i went over. I dunno, I hope I pass, my luck has been crappy lately I failed the last 3 I took. A 47 on all three of them and I studied my butt off.

Oh great, this sounds like fun. I'm studying to take it right now, and it looks to be the hardest exam I've encountered yet by a long shot... Even on the exam's description page at free-clep-prep.com* it states, "...this one's a pain. The old version was pretty tough, but the new version by all accounts is much more difficult." Every study section in IC is like 50 or 60, or even 80 questions! They're usually like 25 to 40 questions. This test is looking like a giant angry steroid-crazed rape-monster.

However, I noticed there's a lot of crossover in study material with the Business Ethics and Society DSST, which I nailed with a 458 after about a week of IC studying. Anyone else taken both of these tests? Are they similar?

I passed the exam today with a 437 as well. I have no idea how though. Out of 94 questions, I flagged 48 of them. To study, I used the study guides on this forum. I also watched the 3 minute philosophy videos on youtube. I studied for about 10 hours total. What helped ne was reading the study guide, pause and think about it then watch a short video. If I still do nit understand, watch a second video. This test is not easy and you should be prepared for more than I did.
