Ethics: DSST or EC
#1
Which is the easier of the two? From the 'specific feedback' section, I'm getting no real feel one way or another. Smile

Hi 4dkids,

My personal opinion is that the DSST exam is easier than the EC exam. Then again, the DSST is a lower credit exam, and the ECE is an upper level exam. That can sometimes make a big difference in the difficulty level.

I agree with JoAnne in that the DSST is easier....That said, many forum members have passed BOTH using just the IC cards...I know that's what I did. Lee

DSST is easier, shorter and cheaper.

Hi Cindy,

I used the DSST flashcards to pass both the DSST and ECE exams. Between that and reading a bit more in depth on some of the people at Wikipedia, I did well on both. Smile

I recently asked my advisor about the Ethics exams. The answer that I received is below. Given the choice, I would take the DSST (less expensive, probably easier) but the ECE has the distinct advantage of being upper-level business credit, which I need. What do you need? --Chris

Quote:...the Dante exam, Ethics in America, can not apply as a business elective. Therefore, I do not recommend that exam since you do need business electives. However, the Excelsior College exam called Ethics: Theory and Practice will apply as upper level business electives while satisfying your Ethics requirement.

I took this exam Saturday and passed. It was almost all yes/no with about 10 multichoice questions 111 total. You must know each philosophers stance or type of philosophy to answer correctly.

I used IC, Prometric, DSST study guide.

Thanks for all the feedbackSmile. I do not need upper level credit. EC now awards grades for DSST so score is a factor. Easier is what I was seeking. I will DSST w/ IC and probably Prometric or EC practice exam.

Hello everyone,

I just want to say thanks to Instant Cert, I passed my first DSST test for Ethics in America, this past Thursday with a 48. Big Grin 46 is passing score. I think I could've scored alot higher. Traveling an hour to the base education center and taking the test after working a midnight shift was a factor. I almost started to nod off in the middle of the test with all of that reading. What does a 48 equal on the grading scale?

I want to knock out American Government next. This time I will really buckle down, and make sure that I'm better prepared when I test.
