English requirements + info needed
#1
Hello first I hope I am doing this correctly, second I thank you all who will read my inquiry.

Your Location: Germany (originally north africa)
Your Age: 24
Last obtained degree: two years computer science university degree, could be considered in other places as a vocational training diploma (maybe there is a process to transform into credits).
What kind of degree do you want?: Initially I was looking into the OMSCS but that requires a bachelor then I found WGU but since i am in europe I can't sign up, So I would say I would prefer to directly be able to sign up to a master degree in computer science, if bachelor is required then I am open to doing that of course.
Budget: max of $9K. I'd like to go the cheapest route possible
Commitments: Full time job as a developer.
Dedicated time to study: I estimate at least 1.5 hours every week night and on the weekends, maybe 4 hours, total would be roughly 16 hours or slightly more.
Timeline: if a bachelor less than a year, master I am open to more than a year (the faster the better).
Tuition assistance/reimbursement: None.
Other Information: If relevant I will be doing this along with friend in a similar boat.

Technically coursera does offer some master program with no degree requirements for example, but for now that exceeds my budget, Another option was IU but reviews were not all positive and it's a three year bachelor so I don't know if it will be accepted.
Note: for the english requirements if there is a way to take credits and by pass the english test please kindly tell me.
Again I thank you for the help.

My quick response: Knock out a quick bachelors at UMPI in 2-3 terms (each term is 8 weeks). Use Sophia and Study dot com for any missing credits up to 90 for the degree. Once done, apply to OMSCS.

Thanks for the response, I couldn't find exact details about the bachelor you mentioned in UMPI, I would prefer something as close to computer sience as possible and I also see in one part that an associate degree is required which I don't have.

TESU & SNHU are then likely your best bets:

Basically... Take your time to read the TESU website, WIKI links, and the posts/threads... I've explained it pretty much in this Beginner's Guide Thread post, it's got a few links as well: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...#pid335188

Doing the BAS degree through the UMPI YourPace requires the applicant have an AAS (and the required technical credits). The OP (alexeo_13) did not state they held an AAS, just that it was a two year computer science degree. And with the Pierpont BOG AAS becoming an unrealistic way to obtain an AAS the UMPI BAS may not suit the OP.

Not sure it matters, since OP indicated that they would like something that is more clearly Computer Science.

By the way, Germany does not really have AAS, but the credit evaluator can return an equivalent for the diploma and possibly Abitur if OP has one (for example, a close friend received a recommendation of 30 lower level credits for their Arbitur). Not clear if OP's program is from Germany or somewhere else.

Thank you for your reply, so if I understood correctly, I can just follow a guide like this one: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Sa...egree_Plan but I can only use it to get 90 credit to transfer the rest has to be from a four-year institution, is there a way I can get an evaluation from my current degree (not obtained in europre but received recognition for it in germany, not a university degree here but a vocational training)? or transform work experience into credits?

I really liked your suggestion about the TESU double combo BALS/BSBA (two seperate degrees if that is still the case) although I couldn't find info on the website, do you think it's doabale in one term? also what was meant by this:

> Note: You can't do both the BS CIS and one of the BSBA degrees as at the time of graduation they will make you pick one or the other. You can do a double BSBA concentration as long as no credits overlap between BSBA concentrations.

if the double degree is not possible anymore I think I can follow this https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Sa...ience_Plan?
I see it's better to lock in now and start fulfilling my credit from the other providers? I don't want to accidentally kick off the term.
one last thing please is If I have to do 30 credits from TESU that means I have to do it into two terms which I am guessing along with transfering credits will exceed my budget?

Can you please tell me where one might apply to get an equivalent for credits?

For the US schools, you will need to send your college transcripts from Germany (or other country where obtained) to a foreign credit evaluator. You have several options with TESU. If you did your Arbitur, you would also send the evaluator that credential. You want to ask for a course-by-course evaluation.

Read these pages if you have not yet:
