Hi Everyone-
It's that time of year again...TAX SEASON!!! Booooo lol
I know there's a section on the tax forms for Education and to include the amount reported on your 1098-T but has anyone or does anyone know if you can add expenses paid for Straighterline and ALEKS? Even though they don't send a 1098-T? I know its not alot of dollars but a few months of SL adds up as does the books if purchased. Let me know your thoughts.
Thanks a bunch!!

You should be able to write these off since they're directly related to educational expenses. I'd call SL and ALEKs and get their take (my guess is this isn't the first time they would of heard of it). You could and probably should give the IRS a buzz to get the most accurate info, but it may be fun trying to explain exactly what SL and ALEKs is to someone who likely never heard of them. I'd probably just keep it to online courses that are reviewed by ACE for college.
Books, supplies, and equipment for education can for sure be written off.
